In all seriousness, the Styles fiasco is over. A fiasco him & his agent seemed to be responsible for TBH. Not sure what more the club, or the gaffer could do about that.

I was away DJIng yesterday, so saw nothing of the game. When I lost reception travelling into darkest Bowland Lancs, we had conceded to go 2-1. Have to say I wasn't surprised to get home at 3am to a 2-2 scoreline.

A large amount of work to do this week. The current squad is no way top six, but no way bottom 4 either. I'll keep my powder dry till the window closes.

Got a ticket for Sheff Utd, with my brother & nephew. Last time I saw us play them at home we lost 0-3 & I came down with Covid the next day. Things can only get better....

 

Obviously we’re desperate for a couple of forward players but after yesterday I’m just as concerned about defensive options. We’ve more centre halves than you can shake a stick at but not one fills me with confidence. Defensively we’re all over the place. We look like we need to score 3 to have a chance of winning, especially at home.

That's what our board kept telling us what his release clause was, but people on here keep defending them, it would make a good carry on film

 

I agree I think when MDG looks out most reliable we are up against it, think Roberts has been very suspect and Pines fills me with dread, thought Earl was better yesterday but still not good enough.

 

And only one left footed centre half doesn't help. It's clear that Clarke doesn't seem to rate Gent who is notionally a left back or left wing back which means we have limited options on the left, much as we had last season. Earl might be OK as a left back but struggles as a left wing back and if he's playing out wide we have no left footed centre half.

 

All opinions but I think MDG should be nowhere near a regular starter. Far too error prone.

 

You (and many others) seem to have a skewed idea of what a release clause is! It is not an asking price!! it is a figure which if met the club can not stand in the way of a purchase! I don't think the figure of £2m, or anywhere near it, will have come up in the recent negotiations.

Doesn’t sound like it has come near it. So what is the point of keep stating that is the release figure, if you went to work for some one who said they were going to pay you 1000 pounds per week but they only gave you 250 pounds you would have something to say about. Doesn’t matter if you are worth it or not
