RE: If teachers work that hard ?

    The parents bring up the kids, and are the formative influence on their behaviour. Teachers are there to try and make the kids learn stuff, which is difficult when the kids could't give a ****.

    Why do you see lesson planning and marking as not being work. Ever done it?

    Why are teacher's so touchy ?

    No other 'profession' seems to take offence like they do. What are they sensitive about ? That Scarfy got a little bit too close to the truth ?

    RE: is your own failing due to a teacher?

    and the fact of the matter is;

    at sometime i bet everyone contributing to this thread has been the pain in the ass in the classroom. yet when you threw a punch, chucked something or swore/ answered back. do you blame this on the teacher for being lazy or crap. or was it just us that lacked the manners and self discipline. in my case when ever i did anything wrong it was ALWAYS my fault of course it was no one forced me to do it. yet you are quite happy that the teacher did infact make it happen.

    according to what he's saying about teachers failings.

    RE: You say your mum was a teacher

    I know loads of teachers, i've worked with teachers but i've never known any to get this wound up on an internet BBS before especially when it's not even playtime. Hometimes not til 4ish, then there's the 14 hours of marking.

    to be honest, most teachers hate LEA because they cant see the truth

    so this thread is a bit ironic considering you work in the LEA.

    YES

    Cos if they were on £5000 a year with no pension they would still be teachers, you make them sound like bloody Saints. Chill out man, stop taking everything so seriously. I noticed no one sticking up for the council workers, these boys mend our roads without them the teachers wouldn't be abler to get to work.

    Teachers work damn hard !! ...

    .... if they had to put up with what they do for 8 hours a day, most people would top themselves.

    My dad was a headmaster in Lundwood for 25 years - he once had a 7 year-old's MOTHER come into school and threaten to pull his head off !!!
