The 4 playoff teams receive 12.5% of the total gate receipts from the semis. The other 50% goes to the FL and is ultimately shared amongst the other L1 clubs (proportional based on finishing position). For the final the finalists share 25% of receipts, the other 50% goes to FL and is again shared amongst the other L1 clubs. TV money goes to FL. Or so I believe.
Guessing this is why we have the shenanigans with Bolton last 2 years cos we don't benefit as we would have thought. And likely why Conway (spits on floor) complained that it cost us money getting to the play offs the other year
Fans are being exploited especially when it was only 15 pound to watch Lionesses at Wembley last year. Going to watch them at St James's Park at the end of the month and it's only 17!
Good support from both sides. Bolton were always going to sell a few given their large (relatively speaking, for L1) fanbase. Oxford likewise but because they're about an hour from the stadium and haven't played in the second tier for about 25 years. Be a sizeable number in the Oxford end foregoing their "first" team of Man U, Arsenal, Chelsea etc. for the day
Averaged 9k at home Oxford in one of their best seasons in 25 years, a club with a lot of day trippers.
Apart from the JPT I don't think Oxford have been to the new Wembley. Plus it's not exactly far to travel so they're always going to attract a lot of day trippers.
I feel for the 4 of the current 92 Club that have never played at the new Wembley still. Accrington are the only one of the four who never played at the old Wembley either.
There's only 4 clubs that have never played at the new Wembley? That's quite a surprising stat - it's only been open 18 years, so that's 54 play off finals (108 teams), plus the cup finals and semi finals, but the same teams continually play those. I would have guessed that there would have been more 'multiple visit' clubs to have made that number of non visitors higher than that. Other than Accrington, who are the other 3?
1st time at wembley since 2016 and it's a hour from Wembley similar to when we played Millwall who sold 34k and got 10k at home in league one. It was a few tube stops for Millwall. Bolton have done well to sell 30k though went there last season too.
Just arrived in Wembley, seems to be more Bolton fans around at the mo, be ere for the weekend, booked 7 months since with us being ere, but not to worry we'll still av a good time, London sight seeing t'morra an a river cruise.
