That's your opinion of why they did it

I have a different opinion of why, it was pointless yes, but what else could they do to attract the worlds attention to what is going on? They know as well as anyone that the UN could stop it if they had the will, the US won't let it happen. It's sheer frustration on their part. If anything is going to drive the Lebanese people into a hatred of the west it's if they get their country bombed to the ground while the west looks on. Israel is giving the extremists the chance to thrive and peddle their hatred by giving the Labanese people someone to hate.

OK, you go to the pub and ask your mate to keep an eye on the house

you come back and find your mate standing there with your wife and kids dead. You ask him what happened, he says, some bloke came in and murdered them. You ask why he didn't stop him, he says 'I asked him not to, but he took no notice'. Do you say to him:

    1) Ah well, at least you tried, forget about it.

    2) Something else?

RE: Israel killed 4 unarmed UN soldiers last week as well

They shelled a UN observation post 14 times before hitting it with a laser guided missile. Isrealis then said they were offended at Kofi Annan's suggestion that it was deliberate.

Isrealis had previously attacked a marked Red Cross ambulance.

Yes, but what else can the average person in the street

do? Bombing the hell out of things, killing children isn't going to always get a rational, sensible response. It just shows the frustrations these people are going through when they see the UN have meeting after meeting but there is still no end to the attacks.

    Possibly the worlds worst analogy.

Save that for the parents of all the children killed

I'm sure they wouldn't be offended.

    It was pointless and counterproductive.

In your haste to pick an argument with me you've, once again, chosen a stupid one.

"Save Tell that to the p"?

You need to calm down a bit Gladys.

And the parents of the children killed would be better srved by a fully functioning UN not the moronic rioters you support.

No haste to pick an argument with you, I'd much rather not. Try to keep abuse out

of it too please and just stick to facts.

When did I say I supported them? I said I understood

why it happened, that's all. Frustration, anger makes people do irrational things.

The facts are that the UN headquarters have been trashed ......

....an event which can only hinder the peace process, and you're sympathising with the morons who did it.

And I'll abuse you all I like you ******* idiot.

    Have that.

    Screeeeech! U-Turn!

Do we scratch everything you've said so far then? It doesn't matter and all that?

You don't improve with practice do you?

Show me a post where I said I supported the attacking

    of the UN building.

    You're right.

You didn't say "I support the attacking of the UN building." That's not what you meant at all.

What is it exactly that Ventura pay you to do by the way?

They would never have got past the reception area anyway,I would imagine its a bomb proof building from that point.

On the other hand I think a 1000pounder to knock out a missile/rocket launcher on top of a building is a bit extreme ,could easily be taken out from a distance with an helicopter gunship cannon, rather than wipeing out the whole street, but thats just my opinion, perhaps the USA only had 1000lb ones left over/surplus to requirements.[IMG]

Can't you just sense Windy's moral indignation at an empty UN building being trashed? I can just see him stood there, scowl on face, wagging his finger at an angry grieving mother who has seen her home bombed and her children blown to pieces by US supplied Israeli bombs and saying,

"I tell you what, that's really not on. You shouldn't do that to a UN building you're really not helping your cause!"

    Keep going old boy! (titanic)

    Speaking of ******* idiots............

    ....here's another.

It can only serve to delay the peace process and increase the number of grieving mothers. If you didn't feel duty bound to disagree with everything I say you'd be able to see that, ********.
