If the Johnson thing is right it smacks a bit of Hill's appointment to me - unproven, but the cheap and cheerful option. I'll be taking a year out if it's him.

You're an admitted fair weather fan though. Fair play. :)

You gotta score them brownie points though and at least you score them watching football. Can't be bad.

I think as you get older and you have actual real life things to worry about you realise football is pretty irrelevant - but then again so are most hobbies and interests.

And I think Stan and Ollie will need their tin hats on when they go to the No 7 on Thursday!

Parker and aylott would be my front 2 purely because they were a brilliant front two and glavin and banks would be in my midfield.

That's probably true. Bit harder for me and the missus though. :D

Futcher and De Zeeuw for me. Paul just because he is the coolest player under pressure I've ever seen ext when he shinned an own goal in from the half way line. De Zeeuw bevause he was outstanding. Mick was fantastic but I was too young to appreciate him. Ian Evans ran all 3 close. Then I'd agree Tiler for one season was absolutely outstanding. May was a good honest professional like Foster. Davis I liked more because he seemed Futcher lite with his positional sense and coolness.

The Red Sea has to part before one can get out!

It didn't so back to the Managerial merry go round.

I always thought Arry was the perfect centre half, barring one key component - pace. Taggart was just a monster, old skool centre half but not a terrible footballer either. I think he's the one I'd deem best ever (in my years watching). But as you say, Davis was just cool and unflustered, only Hassell has come close for me for just knowing when and where to be at select times in a game. I think he was underrated, Steve. But Moses coming through probably made his loss less painful.

Oh for a few defenders of that ilk now.

I said it in the summer that Hassell being allowed to leave was lunacy. Not many agreed. And as I will always say, it's no coincidence how badly we've defended and how rudderless on the pitch we've been since both he and Foz left.

Old Bobby is much closer to the Red Sea than Danny.

Danny is much closer to the North Sea than Bobby.

Old Danny is way closer to the Job Centre than Bobby.

But if a Bobby comes back then the River Dearne is much closer than the North Sea.

One sea is Hot and the other is cold enough to shrivel a Greyhounds ******** to Peanuts
