cheers sounds promising. swap deal with wright and a bit of cash would be a good bit of business it sounds.
RE: Perhaps I'm not giving them the credit they deserve they just want a bidding war to get the best price which we are not in a postion to do??:-|
For us not them... Why don't we put Rimmo in the equation as well!!
Here is the deal...
We swap Williamson for Wright + £100,000, Norman Rimmington and the cast from Kes will do an 'Evening with the cast from Kes' thingy.
We just need to find a crap setting for his signing photo. How about the Mens behind the old stand that stink worse than Stanley Racing in't tarn??

yes maybe, i think he,d be a great signing plus seeing all pissed off rotherham fans everyday about one of there best players leaving would be a nice sight aswell
Now now D. That's not very nice. You live in my house, eat my food, spend my money and this is how you think towards my football team, YOUR local football team!!!!! True colours there laddy. Until you are old enough to "up sticks" to Baaaaaarnsley let's have a little more respect please. For the record, the club do NOT need £1m before the start of next season. The CVA saw to that by wiping off the debts. Unfortunately it does mean that we start the campaign on minus 10 points. UTM.
actually mate i was born in barnsley grew up on barnsley supported barnsley all my life and only to move to rotherham as parents split up which i wasn't happy about. I dont hate rotherham as a football club but the town itself is getting worse and worse. hope you do well next season and manage to stay up easily.
From Rotherham advertiser Today’s Advertiser reports that the Millers neighbours Barnsley have made a reported bid for midfielder Lee Williamson. The midfield man, 24, is recovering from a shoulder operation and saw a specialist this week to get the all clear, sitting out the Mansfield defeat at Hooton Lodge earlier in the week as a result. Williamson still has a year of his current contract remaining and rumours are that the club are looking to try and extend that to keep him at Millmoor. Barnsley are reported to have had a £150,000 bid rebuffed by the Millers board, but this is just paper talk at the moment. Donny boss Dave Penney is also believed to be tracking Williamson
Knill needs money to strengthen start of a bidding war I suspect, altho unless another Championship club comes in, I reckon we're in with a shout.
Hello DaddyMiller As it was me who stated that Rotherham needed a £1m to start next season , I apologise for giving out incorrect information . I'd still like to see Williamson at our club , though .
From what I can remember of the game at Oakwell last season he acted like a ****** all game and ended up getting himself sent off. Having said that if hes as good as people are making out then he'd be a good addition to the squad.
JLWBigLil: Apology accepted, no worries pal. We have just gone through what you went through a couple of years back. Ie wiped out the debts by entering into a voluntary administration. However, since your re-financing, the Football League now impose a 10 point penalty to any club which goes down that route, mainly as a result of clubs like Leicester, Ipswich, Cardiff spending money that they patently didnt have. Ourselves and Wrexham are the two clubs thus far to suffer the 10 point penalty but, mark my words, we won't be the last! What I do find objectionable is the inference that we should now somehow just accept anything or nothing for any of our players that any other club takes a shine too. In other words that we should now not be allowed to be competative. That, you will agree, is obviously nonsense. Now, more than ever, we need a strong team that the fans and town can rally around and be proud of. The Williamson situation is tricky: On the one hand he is a great player (one of the best midfielders in League 1) and would be sorely missed. However, if enough cash is received thus allowing, say, 2 or maybe 3 additional decent players then the overall squad would improve. One thing is for sure though. With the new owners in charge at Millmoor (genuine fans but sadly not millionaires) the decision taken will be solely and utterly in the best interests of Rotherham United Football Club. Not the player, not Barnsley nor any other club for that matter but RUFC. And in almost 30 years of being a Miller that is the first time I can say that. All the best. UTM.
