Agree, landed early hours last Friday morning - three flights in. Stood waiting for 30mins for the bus to the long stay car park - one bus on... Could have walked it if l didn't have the kids. They then tried to cram everyone and the luggage onto one bus.
1 major airport in Yorkshire. . . Not only that. Called Leeds/Bradford. No it's in Leeds. Doncaster/Sheffield. No it's in Doncaster. Disgrace. Manchester Airport Provides. 67k jobs/support jobs Leeds a 10th of that. Even Liverpool provides work for 13k. And Blackpool. Hoping to Increase to 5.5k. Donny expected 11.5k.
Yeah but has anyone flown out of Sheffield (Tinsley) Airport?! We flew to Amsterdam on what can best be described as a lego-plane. It was tiny! Mid 1990s. Quite surreal to be honest. Cost us next to nothing and baggage control consisted of putting your bags on a table for a member of staff to carry to the plane. Staff in question was an acquaintance of my other half, so he got distracted chatting.
If we are playing that game I'm 10 mins away. It's always been great for us bar 1 incident when coming back from Cyprus but that was a passenger arrest so not sure what else they could do tbh. Never been stuck at security or passport control and with new terminal all good. The twilight drop-off is a great idea as well when you live as close as we do - travel before 9am and you can drop bags night before so reduces that stress as well (jet2 specific I think). Having said all this we are flying to Bulgaria next Friday so clearly just jinxed that journey
First and only time I used that airport. I was astonished how many cameras are on that stretch of road. That I think you may be on about. Unreal.
I'm generally ok with it and location is brilliant. There is just always 'something' ...., usually on return. Doesn't help when you return and you see Chris, from a certain solicitors, mugshot smiling back at you on a giant advertising board. I bet @Chef Tyke empathises
