pfff Those were more or less the same sad ***** that walk around in man u, liverpool or chelsea shirts now. My type? No experience...you really have not got a fecking clue. Most people just did not support football when BFC were doing poorly and that, my deluded friend, is a large part of the reason why club were struggling.
RE: pfff Yes they did, Leeds , liverpool, where getting record crowds in those days, and most of the fans where from outside the city, Barnsley, Doncaster, and other towns, who's teams where doing poorly. Leeds where one of the best supported teams in the land, and their football deserved it. I hope when and if we meet them next season they pack Oakwell out to the brim. Like i have said , if you wern't there, stop spouting.
Closet Leeds fan by any chance? Their football didn't deserve it. As for been the best supported team in the land, how long did that last? If current form is anything to go by they probably all put their white ***** shirts under the bed and started following Rugby League in 1974.............like they all do now - until a big game comes along like on Monday night, then all of a sudden it's car flags and white shirts walking around the whole of Yorkshire. Scum!
oh and "simleton and demic fecking idiot like your self" carry on, you are looking more and more like a dimwit of a l**ds fan by the minute
**** me get thissen to bellend road because it is without a doubt where you loyalties lay. People from barnsley (or anywhere else for that matter) that supported, closet support or still support l**ds or any similar other club from outside their own locale are glory hunting sad feckers.
RE: oh and Steady , steady, steady, I am no Leeds fan, but i watched them like many thousands from this area,. At that time it was just norm. What i am pissed off with is you and many more who hate the scum, and have know valid reason to do so. I hope if they did come into the Championship we hammer them at home and away, and i have been a season ticket holder at BarnsleyFC for 15 years. So ballacks.
Two things.
Thing one. Man Utd always have been better supported than Leeds by the Barnsley wrong.
Thing two. "with you who look on the fact that it couldn't happen that most Barnsley people supported Leeds United in those days will come has a big shock for a simleton and demic fecking idiot like your self." Proper, proper lol!

No, no , no Apparently they're great, wonderful people who get a little boisterous at times, nothing more. Oh, and because they're from Yorkshire we should give them our full backing in whatever they say and do because they're fantastic fans(!) I think Leeds are ace(!)
Revie's Leeds at times played wonderful football, but.... their players were cynical and were cheats. However with regard to the Play-off Final, if Donny play as they played last night, they will demolish Leeds.
When I was growing up in the 1970s, Leeds were most kids in Barnsleys favourite club. The Man Utd of the time. This support was strengthened when they won the FA Cup in 1972 (?). The FA Cup was a much much bigger deal then. The fact that one of their stars (Alan Clarke), scorer of the FA cup winning goal, took over as manager of the Reds really kick started interest in the town's own football club and we were able to attract better players as a result. The rest I guess is history. We owe a debt of gratitude to Alan Clarke. God knows where the reds would be without him. Fighting against relegation to the conference ? So as a result I don't hate Leeds Utd at all. I hope they beat Donny, who I will continue to detest as long as their current owner is at the club. Unfortunately though, based on last night's performance I cant see them doing it. I thought Donny were outstanding to be honest. They passed the ball around much better than we ever do. If they do go up we will be in for a terrible time from Ryan as we appear to be his primary target for abuse. So I would encourage you all to support Leeds Utd against Ryan's lot because (a) BFC would be nowhere if it wasnt for a couple of their ex players (b) They will bring thousands to Oakwell and we could do with the money (c) We always play better against "bigger" clubs than against "smaller" ones we think we should beat. (c) They are not owned by John Ryan. I have never supported Leeds by the way. Even as a kid. Liverpool was my First Division Club. But coming from Oakwell area and going to Grove Street Primary there was only one team for me.
Sorry I wasn't thinking On reflection I agree they are a really nice bunch of people. I met one once. I had a complimentary at Elland Road in the season wherer Archie scored the winner there. I was talking to a very nice Leeds fan sitting just behind me. When Archie scored he was very concerned for me, so much so that he advised me very gently to leave and go and sit somewhere else for the rest of the match, for my own safety. There was no look of absolute hatred in his eyes at all and he didn't insult me with a foul mouthed torrent of abuse just because I was a Barnsley fan and my team had just scored. Yes you are right as usual - a fine set of fans who are well respected all over the country. I hope the club doesn't go bust and above all I hope they don't lose to Donny and don't have to stay in division 1 for another season.
There you go In fact, we should be grateful for everything they've done for us in the past. Wonderful club, fantastic fans.
I see it all now Lord, I have seen the light. After 40 odd years I have finally found out that Leeds fans are nice people. I really hope they don't have to spend at least one more season in division one.
