It was Reading. They made ot through the whole set at Leeds after being bombarded with open bottles of piss the day before. Credit to them for that

Funnily enough I met them at Asda in Wakey the week before the festival. They were there for a signing session but noone turned up! We ended up going over to ask why the hell they were playing and they basically said that it was funny. They were also both massive Blink fans and were hoping to meet them.

Ah the good old days when men could throw bottles of piss at teenage girls.

I text my mate who I went with (he drives trains now), he says the girls were booed and things were thrown at the Leeds gig (on the Saturday), but that I’m probably mixing it up with the notorious Reading performance the day after.

He also says they did three songs and then it was blink that played next.

So as I expected, I remembered it very badly. :D

I went in 03 and 04 then Leeds in 05. Cracking lineups with the Concrete Jungle stage being my favourite. Glad I stopped going though. ArcTanGent festival has taken over; I've been to every one of the 11 times the festival has taken place. Even bumped into a fellow Barnsley fan this year!

Guarantee miserable old gits were moaning about the lineup and price then, too.

I was reading about that the other week. Slade at the time were washed up has-beens who were struggling to get bookings for clubs and universities - but they came on and after an initial rain of bottles, played a greatest hits set at a faster tempo than normal and suddenly you had the biggest crowds of the weekend partying along with them. Def Leppard came on after and didn't have a chance...

In terms of lineup, probably 91 was my favourite. Some of the more observant might recognise the band fourth on stage on the Friday. Not sure what happened to them afterwards, but I preferred that gig to the one the year after where they were headlining - and not just because it was 6 inches deep in mud and almost everyone got trench foot.

Can’t remember the bottles but I remember Noddy Holder totally mesmerising the crowd ,Def Leppard were decidedly average not quite the finished article in those days .i was a big Budgie fan and Whitesnake who were both brilliant . We didn’t get there until Saturday so missed Rory Gallagher . The big surprise was QTips with Paul Young who were brilliant

Carter USM were phenomenal on the Saturday, Thousand Yard Stare were one of my favourite bands (and still are) and they were great too in the tent. i really enjoyed five thirty who had a bit of a buzz about them too
