'Of course in reality football has no big issue with murder, just like it doesn't with racism. A handful of racist people doesn't make an entire sport racist. I've worked with people who are racist before, it didn't make the entire company or industry racist, it just meant that a few people in the world are idiots.'

That's how it's always been. This is real mountain out of a molehill stuff, but then such an approach suits the agenda of the politically correct drones and professional victims who manage to identify 'isms' in every dark corner of society and use their uber-sensitive feelings to further restrict freedoms. The police have had the same problem since the Stephen Lawrence fiasco, however instead of their leaders standing up and saying you know what, we're not institutionally racist, and such a claim is plainly b*llocks so shove it up your arris, it's actually a minority that have given us a bad name and we're dealing with it, they've surrendered meekly and the end result for the police has been clear for all to see ever since.

I know every club has a number of fans who chant vile rubbish every week at various targets, however these are almost invariably ignorant morons, and while there's a part of me that would be more than happy to see such morons flogged in the town centre on a Saturday afternoon, the only way you're ever going to address ignorance is through education and time, not through a never ending stream of moaning about the (isolated) problems, demonising the ignorant, or indeed criminalising them.

Justin Fashanu and some Swedish 4th division player that the BBC3 show on homosexuality in football managed to find last year.
