You've totally missed the point. I merely said "A BBC reporter saw some supporters set upon and arrested by the police for no reason". I haven't a clue if that incident is in the video.
This definitely puzzles me. Most traditional socialists are at best ambivalent towards the EU and the SNP is somewhat to the right of the LibDems.
More footage now coming out of Leicester fans chanting "Gibraltar is ours, Gibraltar is ours, f**k off you Spanish lovely person*s, Gibraltar is ours". Plus throwing flares and chairs at the police. Sounds like another proud day for Britain. The sad thing is the police probably did take out and use disproportionate force against many innocent supporters. Sadly the fairly large minority of moronic English football fans are a stain on our reputation. They aren't an "army" as they like to think. They're pissed up little shits who deserve locking up. Those fans who have been caught up in it despite not inciting violence should point the finger of blame firmly at their fellow "fans". Another embarrassing night for England.
I wouldn't have been hanging around. If it's kicking off and you want to be treated as innocent, move along away from it then there is no way the police can think you're part of it. If indeed innocent people have been arrested i'm sure now they are asking themselves why they didn't get away from the trouble so the old "birds of a feather flock together" motto couldn't be said for them.
Once again some of the posters on here are astounding, they could work for The Guardian the way they manage to make everything about Trump, Brexit or racism.
Labour and SNP were against EEC until Jacques Delors speech to the TUC in 1988, when he successful convinced the British Left that the EC (to be formed in 1993) would be socialist and they've been on board ever since.
Were Labour opposed to the EEC so much that they tried and failed to join the EEC under Wilson in the 60's? True socialists are opposed to the EU and were to the EEC but the Labour party hasn't been truly socialist since its inception in the early 1900's
I think you'll find pro europeans & eurosceptics on both sides of the House. Fact is we're leaving & it looks like we're going to make a balls of it.
Leicester fan here. The night before the game, the Spanish police started attacking our fans and rounding them up, forcing them to leave Madrid Square. As you can imagine, our fans were at the bars, having a good time, causing no harm, so there was no reason for the Spanish police to attack. Some fans were beaten with batons, same thing happened in Seville when the police used rubber bullets, again for no reason other than the British having a reputation for hooliganism perhaps? The 5% every fanbase has, consisting of chavs and drunken idiots, decided the next day they were going to be total dicks and cause trouble for the Spanish Police. Non of this would have happened, if the Spanish Police didnt provoke and attack first. But many innocent Leicester fans, who were bystanders at bars were also beaten and attacked by the police. Btw we really could have done with Matty James last night against Atletico!!
