he just read this board and wrote it all down and got a few quid for it, lazy journalism for me, nothing new at all
Over the years patrick owned the club he will have lost millions. Chances are when buying a football club unless you have a massive fans base and are struggling and able to get the said club for cheap chances are your going to lose some money. Wasnt it patrick cryne who said the easiest way tk become a millionaire is start off a billionaire and buy a football club? I dont think were such a bad option for potential buyers but thats if were even for sale.
We’re still enjoying the sunshine Dave , and your quote above sums up my thoughts exactly on our situation
I think you are missing the point, why I was so pleased about the article was that it was not aimed ta the converted ,it brings out what is happening to the readers of the Yorkshire post , a wide audience & puts this shower into the lime light for the wrong reasons & I also think you over think the importance of the BBS , there are about 50 of us who are regularly active out of 11000 fans , he will have researched his article on a lot more than our opinions on here & I do not think for one moment it is lazy journalism .
Yeah but he isn’t a sympathiser to the owners you know. He just states facts to prove all of us who question them wrong…
I thought it said in the accounts where it went and what they used it for . I’m not saying it’s right what they’ve done but the Crynes seem to have accepted the payment , we might not like it but they own the club and if the majority of the share holders agree to the payment there’s sod all anyone can do about it
It's quite right to say the 750k isnt missing. It's just that the owners are on record saying that they wouldn't "take a penny" out of the club. The 750k just proves that they're liars that's all.
Leon only stating in his article what we all feel. No time for latest owners as they have no respect for fans.
For starters I don't have to roll over and let the ******** tickle my tummy. I don't have to attend the cup tie on Saturday. And I don't have to renew when the begging letter arrives in April. I accept that none of these things will retrieve one penny of the £750k, but I also don't have to shrug my shoulders and say "oh well, it's their club, they can do what they want and there's nothing we can do about it." When I pay my money I only expect two things: 1. Twenty three live games at Oakwell, and; 2. That my money goes towards funding the club's day to day activities, whether it be players, backroom staff, or stadium upkeep. I don't expect it to be removed from the accounts as part of the club purchase arrangements, and I have no wish to participate in such transactions in future. Or would you prefer it if we all just paid up, turned up, and shut up?
The fact that part of it is likely to be the money that mugs like me stumped up to help the club is the bit that sticks in my craw. And, like many others, I didn’t claim the rebate or additional match tickets I could have done, because I thought I was helping the club. Not a penny more unless, and until, they leave.
No game to report on, just passed the haif way point of the season , nowt wrong with him doing a summary of the season so far. Nice little filler until footie returns for us. Hope after the weekend his report maybe a little more upbeat.
