A reasoned well argued post. I just think you've misjudged them and you're going to end up very disappointed.

Chansiri and Oyston are hardly the paragons and virtue and not good examples of good football club ownership. Chansiri's dubious scheme's to coerce progressively more and more money from the fanbase is despicable and Oyston is/was a crook.

It’s worth remembering that these directors as individuals have put £££millions into the club to buy it and then trying to relaunch it.
And as much as I like Daniel Stendel it is also worth remembering that he hasn’t put a penny into the club.
There is a huge difference between owners and employees.

So yes - I very much respect these owners.
And yes - I will have patience with these owners.
These owners are what I’ve been wishing for for the last 12 years.
In saying that - they have got off to a rollercoaster start.
They need to do much better.
But I’m sure they, before anyone else, fully understand that.

As I've said on another thread I'm keeping my powder dry. Yes, they made a massive mistake in the summer window & as a result we are looking nailed on relegation fodder.

I see little point making mass protests & the like, as these won't help the players or the new incumbent.

Come the end of the January window, if some lessons haven't been learned I'll be stopping attending matches until things change, but let's wait & see.

They are experienced business people & we aren't going to get much out of them at them moment, until they work out what their strategy is going forward.
It would seem to me there are two possibles:

    1. Carry on regardless with the "plan" and probably get another unheard of foreign manager, who is willing to work with it.

    2. Revise the "plan" in some way & get an experienced manager with knowledge of the championship, let him make a few of his own signings in January to give us at least a fighting chance of staying up.

If it's option one, I can't be arsed with the rest of this season, as it will only end one way. I may as well pick up in August 2020 in L1, when we have a chance of winning matches.

Is there though. When we have a strong League One season, then sell 3 players for £10m - that's more than you get for being in the Championship I think? I bet we don't get anywhere near £10m in player sales at the end of this season. They might be happy being a yo-yo club.

Errr, that’s my point in case.

Be careful what you wish for...... Chien & Conway are far better than them.

You get a player performing in the championship U25 and on a long term contract you get £5m instead of £2.5m

Means then we can reinvest in better potential and in turn higher sales revenue.

Not being antagonistic but what millions have they put in to relaunch the club? As I understand they are running the club to be self sustaining so they haven’t put any money in, other the original purchase. They’ve obviously signed players this summer but they must still be in profit from sales

They’ve spent a tenner on some billboard in New York. What else?

The heritage projects were done via a grant, the fan zone is sponsored by fans. I think there were a few improvements to the players gym but other than that I don’t see how millions have been spent relaunching the club.

Do we know who actually funded the acquisition, where funds came from (i.e. borrowed or from their own reserves) and how much it entailed?

I wouldn't naturally assume the club was actually bought from their own money, though of course it may have been. But as the ownership vehicle is so opaque, we don't know.

Someone also mentioned about taking money out through ownership to repay that acquisition cost. That absolutely should not be encouraged. A capital outlay, if an investment, should be repaid at the point of capital disposal. Not through revenue "earnings".

Whatever they say now it'll be too little too late. They've had plenty of time to expand on that pathetic statement and have chosen not to. Spectemur Agendo.

    The comparison at Nice ?
I thought they’d bought a rundown French second div club , built a new state of the art stadium and established them in Div 1.
Forgive me if this is wrong it’s just how I have interpreted the information , it’s not a retort just a genuine thought at what had happened at Nice if it’s wrong I apologise I just thought that that’s what happened.

The Allianz Riviera stadium was completed in September 2013. Chien Lees consortium completed their acquisition of Nice in September 2016.

The Training facilities were completed in October 2017, but I cant see when planning was granted or when they started building.

So as I suspected, they massively benefited from the sale of a Stadium and facilities built and already paid for euro 2016. Explains why the west stand hasn’t been redeveloped and we now have a side that isn’t good enough for the championship still there’s new hand dryers in the bogs!
