The club have to prioritise positions for strengthening in Jan. I still think another CH, Reid is too injury prone. A left back because Hecky and Williams are not good enough. A midfielder like Wallwork would be very useful. A striker who regularly scores or a decent target man. Possibly a keeper to replace Colgan. The above would be my priorities in that order.
The problem was not all Ritchie's - he was not given the money to get in players who would make a positive difference, as all the club will offer is peanuts for players and one year contracts that no decent player would take. So Ritchie was only left with options on players who were no better than those we already had, he knew that and did not want to waste what little money we had on bringing such players in. When he was sacked and GS went on his little spree we saw the quality of players he was looking at, and they are no better than those we already had - Ritchie was right!!. GS should not have bloody meddled in things he knows nothing about.
