Tonge and Austin have been more than able to play in their given positions. Reid describes himself as a centre half and its debatable what Kays natural position is so lets not start panicking and shovelling blame onto the defenders.

What about the missed opportunities from Tuesday night and yesterday at Colchester?

If you dont score goals you simply wont win!

Anyone who can get 2 decent crosses a game is an improvement.

I dont need to get on his back , as his ineffectualness is there for all to see and it doesnt need me to say so.

Shukers a great threat in this league, and a major part of our team. I agree about his crossing, he will know he needs to improve that part of his game and will no doubt be working on it.

Its same with McPhail. No doubt hes back to his normal ways, and we need a replacement. Because people didnt like the way he played yesterday, hes utter rubbish, and pointless. Was only a good shout for barnsleys MOTM in our first 2 games. Pfff.

Stuck in work when the cricket is 3/4 mile up the road.

I am basing my opinions on observations I have made.

Just hacked off with us producing/signing run of the mill footballers at best.

 

Annoying thing is Shuker probably does know that his delivery is appalling at best,

but what I have seen so far this season indicates that he hasnt improved in the slightest.

Our major problem is in midfield! We don't have a good defensive central midfielder and we don't have a good creative central midfielder. At the moment, we don't have good wide midfielders either. Consequently, our defence is almost always under pressure and our attack is almost always lacking good service.

 

no, not in my opinion

in the opinion of himself and the opinion of the man who signed him to bfc as a schoolboy. that is why midfield is his natural position. it might not necesarilly(sp?) be his best position but it is the position he naturally plays in

Not strictly true yesterday's goal came from a mistake by Tonge (who otherwise was one of the better players) the ball was switched to the left then back in for the goal. We do seem obsessed with the lack of ability at the back, but yesterday we failed to compete and created little from midfield and lacked pace and penetration up front, its a little more worrying to me that our suppose strengths were so poor than the fact the the defence conceded one goal away from home.

Like I said some time ago that protection will be provided by Richard Kell. He is an excellent player.
