    Just a reminder!

A goal from 1 yard counts exactly the same as 1 from 30 yards! Agreed both Richards and Hayes both missed sitters but what about their hard work for the team and also Richards work on the 1st goal was superb!

    If he continues his form

through the season, he'll go for a million quid. FACT. time on the ball, creating umpteen chances, full of running, if he adds a few goals, he wont be playing for us for much longer. no wonder Southend see him as a replacement for Eastwood.

I think what everyone's high about..........

....are the bottle and belief it took to come back from 2-0 down mate. I agree that we still need at least one real striker but the spirit shown last night is like a one goal start.

RE: But consider how many players have been taken off the wage bill.

Think who have signed new contracts (higher wages more than likely) and new players

    Colgan
    Reid
    MacIndoe
    Togwell
    Coulson
    Healy
    New Keeper (forgot his name)

And we certainly need a one goal start if we are going to continue letting 2 goals in early doors every game.

By all accounts, the wages have not increased by much

We should be offering an improved contract

to certain players now. but we seem to let em sweat right til the bitter end, motivational tool. course, McPhail will be ***** for the first 80% of his contract at Cardiff.....

It would cost us a hell of a lot

But I disagree that money MUST be found to ensure this doesn't happen. Money MIGHT have to be found but let's assess what we've got first. Everyone talks about a striker but our toothless attack have struck four goals in two games against fancied opposition at this level. We've also conceded four so perhaps it is a defender we need - certainly would be cheaper than bringing a striker in.

Bear in mind that we have a young front line and a young back line - ie players who might or might not progress quickly enough to become Championship-standard players this term. But depending on how these lads progress, we might need a striker most, we might need a defender most. We might need both but, lest we forget, we may need neither. I am certain loan players will be brought in as cover where necessary and that if the squad needs strengthening money will be forthcoming.

Bear in mind also that we maintained second-tier football in the Machin era with the much maligned Saville/Rammell partnership. It is possible not to have a 15+ goals-per-season man and still finish mid-table. We have proved it.

I agree. Early talks should start in January IMHO.

    Re McPhail. Tongue in cheek?

    and Matt Carbon.

I always thought you were a McPhail fan S.M.? In any case, given his showing for Cardiff, we are missing nothing. Yes he can pass. Usually sideways.

The only way Windass would leave City is

if they had to sell him for financial reasons. They've not got the new finance they were expecting but seem to be OK with their budgets for the rest of the season. Any bid is a waste of time unless they go belly-up.

    McPhail is quality

probably turned our season around when he found his feet, MOTM for me in most of our last 10 games. and he'll get better at this level.

having said that, last night was League 1 standard. if we can find a few more teams like Hull, we might even get them 13 wins...

    RE: Like Sheron

Yeah! I did. We have been together for just over four years now, believe it or not - the love of my life eh?

I feel its time to admit I was somewhat wrong with my opinions of Sheron - where did he go after leaving us, Blackpool then Macclesfield? Thats evidence enough as to his abilities.

I'd agree with that, about the last 10 games. Needs to be little more direct in the final third of the field.

We'll get the results i'm sure. Just need to stengthen at the right time. Squad very thin in certain areas eg midfield

We miss Shuker like a dose of the clap
