You have chosen one posting that contained a letter which summarised almost every view of what happened that day in Huddersfield. There were simply hundreds of comments that day and in the days that followed which praised the achievement of Flicker and his staff and demanded that their appointment be made permanent, and very few that offered any other route forward. It is one of my greatest disappointments since that day is, that when it has been tested, supporter loyalty to the men who achieved that miracle has been found wanting. If those men cannot command any loyalty after what they achieved that day, what chance is there for the next guy who takes up the poison chalice that is managing our football team against the odds. Logic, reasoning and explanation are pointless when set against a string of poor results. It has been an eye opener to me, and I am sure I can never feel the same way about our so called supporters again.
I'm not sure whether you agree with me or not. I'm saying that the letter, which received lots of backing on here, was correct in it's praise of Flicker and the management and that he deserves the same kind of support now.
I agree with all of that apart from the last sentence. 6 months is a long time in football and while I don't agree with the opinion of all those fans, I can understand why they might think it. I think it's about time Flicker was shown some loyalty. We're in a much, much better position now than if he hadn't taken over mid way through last season. 100% of the fans wanted him to get the job in the summer yet now over half on here have changed their mind and want him out just 16 games into the new season, despite the miracle he performed last season.
Send him another letter and ask who he is and why he is pretending to be Flitcroft, 'cos the guy in charge now bears no resemblence to the guy who was our Manager from January '13 to May '13
Was indeed, a great letter and a Great Escape by the Reds. But that was written at one moment in history. Here we are, 4 months into the following season and we have not built on what appeared to be such a strong and united foundation. I read and contribute to many threads and discussions......and the biggest disappointment for me, is that we have simply not carried on where we left last season (and we probably have a stronger squad). Flicker, for me, is such a great bloke to lead BFC and I really hope he turns it round, but games are coming thick and fast and we need wins, quick!
