Nobody is mentioning the fact that Stoke need to sell. As they have a massive wage bill and were only a few points above relegation.... it was squeaky bum time for them until they beat us in the last few games. I’m assuming that parachute payments will be drying up soon as well. They are having to sell their fringe players who are on big money.
I thought so yes, he gave us another option at the very least. He’s a good player and a menace for the opposition. To a large extent I think we were fortunate to go up with a threadbare forward line (having not purchased in January), and fortunate to stay up last season. the recruitment strategy has been really risky and we have got away with it in the last two seasons. hope the owners have learnt from their errors and we can push on
I was puzzled by that aswell he was 4th choice behind lindsay, Jackson and angus McDonald. Pinnock only got a chance because of injurys and suspensions at xmas time he equalised against reading last minute got motm at home to preston scored the winner away at the stadium of light in a one nil win, in that run of games he looked great, he then broke his toe in training and hecky went to leeds.
To be fair, nearly all our signings are raw when they first arrive but I thought Pinnock was treated unfairly by Hecky & when he eventually did get a chance he proved how good he was .
I know we do Helen. This was a post directly to the other poster as that is what he was saying on another thread, and calling people fascists and racists. Don't read any more into it than that
It was a real pychological lift when he came back after injury.i know I'm going to get accused of being pro Stendel again but he didn't have it easy losing Moore for a significant period of time in our promotion season
Agreed, it was testament to Stendel's system that we carried on winning without Moore (and others at various parts of that season - McGeehan, Woodrow, Potts etc). It proved that the sum of the parts was bigger than the whole.
With you on that mate. Our results improved if anything. So wasn’t so sad to see him go. ( seems to have done ok in a Wigan and wales shirt tbf ) But I thought we would have got someone in to replace him . Eg target man. We only caused problems in the air when Halme was pushed to play up front. Other than that high crosses were a complete waste and chicken feed for defenders.
