Absolutely. I wasn't laying any blame at her door whatsoever, I was just not so subtly hinting that it most likely wasn't a "fall" because of the week he'd had with one direction fans slagging him off following the allegations. But what I didn't mention was that weirdly I didn't see a single video or comment on tiktok that even mentioned the allegation, they were all just slagging him off as unpopular in the band, a bad person, poor singer etc. it's only that id briefly seen the allegations recently that I knew they were the reason behind the hate.

No idea if he was controlling or anything else or anything at all really but what I do know is that a man shouldn't be dating a girl who he met at a fans meet and greet when she was 15 and he was in his 20s in the first place. It's grooming.

I suppose it shouldn't be surprising he would feel tht behaviour is normal as following that assessment he himself was "groomed" by Cheryl.

Lot of whataboutery on this thread. A young fella has died leaving behind a 7 year old boy and it seems most peoples first thoughts are “who’s groomed / controlled who” or he’s somehow brought it on himself by chasing fame and money. Has he? No idea, don’t know him. His band mates and people he knew / worked with seem to think he was a smashing bloke.

And don’t me started on the media’s behaviour.

It’s just really, really sad news.

You're right it's incredibly sad and potentially highlights the consequences of allowing a 14 year old to go on a show with the exposure of the X Factor and the fame that followed. The lack of support, including the grooming of the young man himself.
I can't imagine the damage that was done to his mental health.
