Failed at Bristol? I suppose if getting your team to the play-offs in two consecutive seasons and winning a cup is failing then he did. They missed automatic promotion in that final season by 1 point then got to the play-off final. After which he got the sack. They didn't make the play-offs the following season.

He got a very unfancied Swindon side to the play-offs too.

I wouldn't mind a bit of failure like that.

    Yup.

Over his entire managerial career Danny has a win percentage of over 40%. He averages 1.48 points a game, which works out as 68 points over a season. Everywhere he goes he gets his teams in the play-offs or promoted. Except with Wednesday of course, but even then he took them to a 12th place Premier League finish.

I don't want Flicker sacked, but if we do, to not want Wilson based on his managerial record is just madness.

    Hurst - youth product

Irrespective of who comes in we need to give our promising youngsters a chance to thrive. I hoped, under Flitcroft, Reuben and Digby would break through this season. His management of these two players with regard to his public statements and what he's actually done for them has been disgraceful in my opinion.

I've just read someone in this thread claiming he didn't do anything with a low budget at the Blunts. Third place finish and a play-off final that they lost on penalties in his first season. Play-offs secured and still a chance of automatic promotion in his second season when he was sacked in April. His crime? Winning 6 and drawing 4 of his previous 12 games. It's not Wilson's fault that Sheff United are barmy. They've played 28 matches since then and won just 7 games. So yesterday, over 7 months and 28 games after they sacked Wilson, they finally managed to win more games than in the 12 before Wilson was fired!
