Yeah, the bulk of their years in the 2nd tier were pre 1920, and again in the 50s. http://european-football-statistics.co.uk/attnclub/league/linc.htm
Didn’t pay high wages in 90’s mate, I knew quite a few of their players back then and I was on more than them. The wages were less than £300 a week basic but had a shed load of bonuses attached which they rarely achieved cos they were not very good.
Interesting. I'd heard they were pretty well paid, but having said that I know where Terry Fleming lived in Sleaford and it was pretty dire even by Sleafordian standards!
Hindsight is a wonderful thing. I don't recall hearing too many dissenting voices about DC when he joined us. Same as DKD. Majority of people absolutely clamouring for us to go out and sign him, with many even slating the Board for taking too long about it. Now apparently he's $hit and our recruitment is terrible. Football fans really do have very very short memories.
I don’t wish to come across all Billy Big ****** but I’m not in the least envious of anything that’s going on at Lincoln. We’re all on a bit of a downer right now but I think we need to step back and have a bit of perspective.
