Half the time they didn’t need to win the ball back because we gave it to them . Thought first half they were still beatable , second half they looked a different side pressing higher up winning every second ball and we were just not in it

Game lasts 90 minutes though, and he didn’t do it second half, but we go again Tuesday and hopefully turn up next time mate

The 1st goal was scary bad the fact that it was a 2 on 1 from one long ball. If that happened at under 13s the managers going mad.

The midfield is also there to stop em running through but it didnt. Cant blame it all on the defenders. Our midfield today was non existant, with Kane and Connell particularly poor

They are just another annoying bogey team who we can't beat at home (like Exeter) on the occasional times when we play them.
I mean as daft as it sounds, now they are out of the way, we might go unbeaten again now in the remaining 10 games.
I doubt it of course, but it might happen!.

i really don’t understand why Phillips plays so high up the pitch, I know his final ball is usually quality but we don’t need him that far up all the time, in particular when we’re being pressed and clearly need another man in midfield to help out. I don’t know how Collins suspects to get out vs a high press when we have a 3 and a 1(Kane occasionally dropping deep to help Connell) vs 4/5 of their players pressing us

The difference between the two sides on the counter attack they moved the ball forward much quicker than us.
I have noticed this in quite a few games when we counter we are so slow, sometimes 5 passes before we're into the danger zone.
With opposition now 5 players behind the ball.
They were often 2 passes bang .
We need to get the ball forward quicker with more intensity.

You might normally have 1 or 2 players who have a bit of an off day but we had 5 key players who were terrible in possession today.

All of Kane, Connell, McAtee, De Gevigney & Earl struggled to find a reds shirt today.

There was only really Phillips & Cadden who’s passing was anywhere near its normal levels.

I don’t believe we’ll be that bad again.

It’s also a reminder of why we were so cautious in the first half of the season when we had McCart & De Gevigney regularly playing together in the back 3. Neither can run. We can’t play high with them 2 in the back 3.

We needed Williams back at CB. Apart from Earl we had no pace in the back 3 and I think that cost us today. If Williams is there then I don’t think that the 1st happens, mcart was running back but he’s so slow and got no where near the Lincoln player in the middle. Need Pines back asap

One thing is for certain. We should never ever play that back three together ever again.

I often read people saying McCart did ok because he does in his one on one battles but he’s a complete liability against any side with pace.

Yea...I do think that these kinds of actions have to happen for these scorelines....the opposition play really well and we play really bad. I thought it would be our toughest game and it was. Its not like we haven't got away with more than a few games so far this season (let's not forget Carlisle should have been 4..0 up after 30 mins at oakwell) and us thinking, what just happened there, how did we not lose that?
As we all stated they are very well organized team and thrashed us but when we can't pass or tackle that result was always in the making. Another factor yesterday was we looked very "leggy" and we have nothing on the bench to make us better.

That first half against Carlisle was far worse than yesterday.
How we won that game I've no idea.

Lopata, Shepherd and McCarthy are the back three at Carlisle once we recall them all.

We looked knckrd from early doors. No movement or showing for the ball and the lack of Pines just occupying the centre of defence with pace and power gifted Lincoln the game and played to their strengths. Agree that the bench offers very little and there's no plan B. Not sure where well end up now but unless we go into freefall the play offs look likely.
