Acorn can't do plastic bottles so not an option unfortunate. At the meeting I said town folk hate Tetleys and Carlsberg. Hopefully we can vote

If we stay up maybe the cup money could help turn the unused East Stand floor into a real social bar, then we wouldn't have to worry about plastic glasses and cans...

Just wont get any glass anywhere inside a stadium where there is easy access to the crowds

That wouldn't be, entrance to the level is via the executive entrance at the back of the East. Could be used by anyone that sits anywhere in the ground. Call in before the game then you'd have to come out and go to your relevant turnstile. Save's pissing about with these stand bars that serve cans and bottles in freezing conditions.

My major gripe with them isn't necessarily the quality of the food, it's the availability - by half time they only ever seem to have chicken balti pies left.

They seem to be scared of having anything leftover which surely just makes people not bother queuing and takings go down - nothing worse than being stood in the queue for the whole of half time only to have the choice of a couple of chocolate bars.

Well I think that everything on there is good news (though the charity one would need the figures looking at to see if it is actually a good idea or a cost saving measure). ANY bar in the ponty is a step in the right direction surely.

For those that went did Lindleys say anything about revamping the look of the bars/refreshment stands in the rest of the stands while they're doing the work in the ponty end? The ones in the east stand for example have a pale orange 'coca cola' sign up over the window because it's been up for 20 years and has faded terribly. Also did they say anything about the queuing barriers that dreamboy has been banging on about for years? They have them for the bar but the refreshment stand is a free for all.

No mention of updating the signs which is a bit poor

The revamp of the bars wasn't asked Tuesday but the trust have pushed this and happy to push again.

Barriers would be down to BFC which means they're unlikely given financial constraints.

In regards to the burgers, I must admit I haven't had one since the Leeds match in January. I think I paid around £3.50 for it and it was dreadful. The burger meat was lukewarm. The bread was chewy and cold and the cheese slice that they slapped on it didn't have a cat in hells chance of melting as the meat wasn't hot enough.

Come to think of it, I can't remember the last time I actually had anything hot from the kiosk in the Ponty End. Even the coffees are often very warm at best. For the price you are paying (premium) you want a good quality offering which essentially meets the basic standards. That's all. You can get a good burger from the vans around Oakwell for nearly half the price and the quality is much better. The same goes for the hot dogs.

    Here's hoping mate.

It doesn't take much to knock up good, tasty food at a reasonable price and just because it's being served up in a football stadium, that should be no different.

Learned a bit through talking to them tho. Not quite that simple but they are introducing products that hopefully will please most fans. It's not McDonald's. they can't cook to order, but they can improve in ensuring its hot, served appropriately and reasonable value.

Feedback will be required next season. Key thing is they are engaging and listening, it's in their interests to

We tried the premium burgers which they did try to launch previously in the ponte and the premium hot dogs. I was suprised at both to be honest - much, much better than I'd expected. Actually thought the hot dog was pretty awesome. If they can replicate that in the stands I reckon I'll be paying a visit every match.

Heres a thought... Why don't the club move the barriers in the east stand from the bar areas to the food stalls? I haven't seen a queue at the bar for a good ten years, whereas there is a regular scrum at the food stand every game.

You may be right but the woman in charge has had the job a few months and wants to change things. At least give her a chance.

not blaming you , but at Barnsley we always seem to accept poor standards
look at the club shop over the years
catering - in my opinion should be given to a local company with no links to anyone else - the fans would buy in
from what I see the prices are wrong - the products are awful - prob not any difference to any other team , but but but we can do it different , why not
