If he wants to sign a contract with us then I’d be well happy with that and throw one at him with wages reflecting his ability and his importance to the team, and if he wants a release clause then I’d put a reasonable one in there 5-10 million. But the owners have already come out and said repeatedly if a player is on 12 left on his contract and he doesn’t want to sign a new deal he’s getting sold that summer window.
The "guts of our midfield" is, and has been all season, a pick from Mowatt, McGeehan and Dougall. Isgrove was nowhere near playing, and Moncur seems to have drifted back to his usual self as well. Potts wanted to leave, so we sold when an acceptable bid came in. If Lindsay has no interest in extending his contract, the same will (and should) happen with him.
Agree with all that, but he hasn’t said he wants to leave and some just seem to think it’s a formality. I actually genuinely believe if we go up he would be better staying one more year, but of course he would need to extend them otherwise we would lose him for nothing.
Leave the lad alone. He hasnt said he wishes to leave, him and Pinnock have got a great understanding and we'd be silly not to start the season off with them
Some are basing all their expectations on how the club has done business in the past, which is wrong. Of course we'll still be a selling club, most are, but people need to have a bit of faith rather than jumping to conclusions.
The problem we have with young players is deep down they all want to earn mega bucks in the short time they play Cannot blame them as clubs get shut of them when showing rust as they only want chrome. We develop players, mega bucks club take them and we as Barnsley fans have to watch other new young lads trying to replace them Take young Ben Williams, trying his best to fill in the defence but not quite ready. So we have a problem with tricky wingers toasting him. In time he will make it but then he will be sold on Lower league teams are always going to lose there best players We could definitely lose half the team, and our offered contacts will not be big enough to keep them. Our owners have the money, so why not offer contracts larger enough to not only keep the players, but act as an incentive for the younger lads to aim for
I think they will be intrest in a few players this summer lindsay, pinnock, moore, cameron mcgeehan possibly. What would you do to keep hold of Lindsay and other players with a year left who wish to leave?
They'll be three or four wanting out if we don't go up... Very interesting next few months.. in and out.
Just look at your original post. It's scathing and as negative as it could be considering the run were on. You mention ripping the guts out of our midfield. I assume you mean Potts. I don't think we've lost a league game since Potts went. Moncur? Can't get off the bench at Luton. No one's on commission. Just some of us don't like attacking the club for something that hasn't happened.
So can you honestly say you don't think anyone will go. Even stendall will be going. Moncur and potts played well together. Every game we had we took no less than 25 shots on goal. We had 7 players capable on scoring. I'm not having a scaving and negative approach to BFC. And if you havent noticed we've stopped scoring goals.
And another thing we have players quite capable of filling in. Take green for instance, just like sterling, he will come good.
"Go on BFC cream some more off. You took the guts out of our midfield now you taking the guts out of our defence. Please dont say your not, your licking your lips again." So that's not attacking the club? It's hardly supportive is it? If you don't want people to question your posts, post something less questionable.
Your words fall down with you trying to cast Moncur getting sold as a negative thing. We’ve stopped scoring goals because our main target man got a serious injury and then we had two first team players banned in the same game.
You criticising me to get me into bother mate. Ive had a season ticket for must be 45 years now. So I'm sure i can criticise. Stop making me out to be just a no fan.
