Re: good post Hardest job in the world. Everything you do you do with the best of intentions but invariably your kids end up resenting you or you **** 'em right up. Is there anyone alive who hasn't got at least one hang up about summat their parents did? Me dad thought it would be a nice idea to take me to the football and then 35 years later I have watch Scott ******* Wiseman playing centre half for Christ sake. Had to laugh last week when Keith said Scott was one of the best centre halves in the Championship. Unless he lives alone I'd wager he's not the best centre half in his house.
Re: good post Could I be sterilised now please? Only joking.... I always thought you were a parent? Bit of a waste that, if you don't mind me saying so. I have a similar ordeal every time I collect the boyski from school or after school events, a repetitive process of verification and identification as I'm not his legal guardian. It's fair enough, if they didn't give me a hard time they'd get one off me. His Mum lets him go busking with his clarinet, we are always close by - most folk think it's dead cute, he's 10 by the way - but some grown ups are concerned he's being exploited. But he's only allowed 1 hour at a time and he saves the money for his gadgets or music stuff. When I was growing up in the 70's I'd take myself off for miles with the dog and be gone all day til it got dark or I was hungry. As early as 5, it really was an adventure especially with all the old stuff around Hoyland, Tankersley, Wentworth etc. It was proper playing out and you could then, though I do have memories of a few weirdos.
Re: good post I fully intend for her to be BFC mad, and then she can know real suffering like I have.
Re: good post Really? I'm worried mine might get hit by a car, fall off a climbing frame/slide, trip up at school etc. I don't worry about them being abducted.
