    RE: Really

Ten-year-old Jon-Paul Gilhooley - his fault was it. Jeez, regardless of the rights n wrongs and who did what, kids died, families lost more than one member, innocents died, regardless of the blame. Cheap comments have no place and you shame yourself down to "oakwell's" level.

RE: You've really not grasped it have you

Where have I said you've blamed anyone that died? I've said don't make snide 'funny' remarks about one of the saddest moments in British football history. YOU'VE NOT GRASPED IT, HAVE YOU?

Listen, I've been on here only a few days and the majority of people on the forum seem decent. Others have made jokes about my city and I think everyone will agree I've taken it as best I can. But do NOT makes jokes about this mate. Because I couldn't call myself a Liverpool supporter if I tolerated it.

    Ok....I apologise

p.s. - The "not grasped it" was in response to Exiled (as denoted by the indent on the thread) and not to your posting.

    There are 2 issues

    1. Remembering the dead

    2. Remembering who was to blame

The dead didn't turn up late, bevvied up and without tickets, otherwise they wouldn't have been at the front.

Those that did share the blame along with atrocious policing and a death trap that masqueraded as football terracing.

The thread was supposedly about remembering the dead, so bringing up the other issue was unnecessary.

    Surprised at Eaststander!

fair enough the supporter were not blameless. But what is the point in making jibes about it. Football supporters, kids...jus normal people died tragically. We should have some respect for their poor souls.

    Really surprised you kicked off

    Pleased you apologised.

Death really isnt ever a matter for making comments like this about. I'm sure after your recent loss you'll agree.

Apportioning blame is a fruitless exercise.

Personally the only good thing that came out of Hillsboro were the changes to all seater stadia & attempts at better crowd control making it safer for all of us.
The majority of us only want to enjoy a game of football in safety. Dont care what the 'safe standing' brigade say, terracing is simply not safe and certain clubs
would return to overfilling terracing to chase an extra buck.

I shall be paying me respects tomorrow to fellow fans who went for a day out to watch their beloved team & never returned & to those who returned but have had the
remainder of their lives blighted physically or mentally by events that day.

I dont believe in the 'chippy scouser everyone's against us' tag & have found some great friends from Liverpool.

That day was a tragedy not just for Liverpool but for football
