Likewise if a few extra thousand barnsley fans went to anfield last season

and rushed the turnstyles then we could blame liverpool for not giving us enough tickets. The fact that we had travelled to liverpool without tickets with the sole intent of breaking the law and forcing our way into the ground would be forever forgotten.

I don't think a post on here has ever made me so angry

Not even taking into account the factual inaccuracy of your post, and your wildly inaccurate interpretation of the comment ("When I arrived at the ground just after 1.30pm, it was already clear there were too many people queuing at Leppings Lane" - he doesn't say anything about people without tickets. There were too many people due to the inadequate turnstiles being unable to process fans quick enough and the fact that there were delays on the roads and public transport meaning people arrived late. the ground wasn't over capacity, the central pens were).

But the fact that you have chosen to post that post on the 20th anniversary of the death of 96 innocent people who simply went out to watch a football match and never came home again is despicable

Sorry i'll post it 2 weeks before he made the comment next time

And he said that at half past one there were far too many people outside the stand trying to get in. This is BEFORE those held up in traffic got there so thats a poor excuse to use for there being ticketless fans there already

Ill bring that up at the memorial today shall I?

Its clear to see that the Police ordered the opening of a gate and failed to close the tunnel enterance. They should have been directed to the corners - as you'll see on the footage, there are open spaces there.

Im sure I am wasting my breath.

Im sorry but your analogy is just garbage

Even if you assume for a moment that Liverpool fans without tickets rushing the gates were a major factor ( they werent but let that pass)

The people killed were the ones who got in nice and early and presented their tickets at the turnstiles. Your McDonalds analogy that its their fault is just so far out its not true

It went the same way with the strike.

At the time the miners were portrayed as scum, they even went to the lengths of rearranging thevideo tapeof events at Orgreave to make it look as if the Met were responding toviolence by the pickets instead of the other way round.

20 years on and it's all "look at the poor communities" and "weren't the coppers rotters?"

The best way to deal with the disingenuousness and duplicity of themedia is to treat them with the contempt they deserve and ignore them.

    So there.

Who said I have no sympathy with those who lost their lives?

I have every sympathy with those and with their families and indeed with all who were injured or had to witness the tragedy, be they the players, forest fans, officials, helpless liverpool fans in other stands or those fans with tickets that were crushed in that stand.

But having sympathy for those does not mean that I can agree in any way shape or form with those people who are using today to vilify the police whilst seeking to use the media to absolve themselves or their fellow fans from any reseponsbility. People have said that today is not the day to blame liverpool fans but it seems perfectly acceptable for those same liverpool fans to use today to blame the police.

Just watched the remembering hillsboro documentary

And I didnt realise that the year before that they also played forest at hillsboro and the players thought it looked full in the middle bit when they scored. Got me thinking what if a similar thing happened that year and the police let fans in without tickets? dont you think when they heard they were playing at hillsboro again the word went round that some people got in for free, a few thousand scousers thought they would give it try?

also the people on the documentary kept saying that there was plenty of room in the other bits of the ground but in nearly every picture the ground looked pretty full to me apart from the small section in the corner.

Having said this may they all rest in peace and thoughts to the families of the deceased.

On the documentary most of the ground seems full and not much space at all.

I find it absolutely shocking that people can come on here today and have a go at Liverpool fans today of all days.

Course they where the victims even if a small minority where partly to blame.

The police where hugely responsible for what happened, of course there would be a rush to the tunnel from those at the back of a queue.

I’ve been to away grounds travelling with Barnsley on a few occasions where people rush and shove there way in close to kick off. One occasion at Southend I think it where an old man was trampled on to by normal looking 30+ year olds who where trying to catch the kick off.

It could have happened to anyone in the circumstances and to just blame Liverpool for it all and to have a go at them today is pathetic.

As someone who went to Liverpool University I have a lot of time for scoucers who are the friendliest people you can find. Having a night out there is nothing like other places in the country. The only other place like it for friendliness that I’ve been to is Dublin.

And as for robbing the dead, come on. Do you really believe that.

I cannot remember a post making me any more angry than I am now. How pathetic to bring this up today

I hope no one with Liverpool connections see this today as this board would get what it deserves.

A few of my very good mates are from Liverpool and you have to respect that this was a small percentage of travelling fans who went that day involved.

And to have no pity for a 9 year old boy for example who was trampled to death and was a cousin of Steven Gerrard. Then the police who stupidly opened the gates are blameless, but yeah lets jump on the bandwagon and slate Scousers.

Why would anyone apart from a glory hunting man U fan have anything against them?

I have never been more ashamed of the town I’m from.

You people on here having a go are a small number and fair enough but how can you come on here and openly post today that rubbish?

Can I just point out that the crush was reaching danger point BEFORE the gates were opened.

The gates were opened because of the danger of death and injury by crushing outside the ground. It may have turned out to be the wrong decision but hindsight is 20/20.
