I'm not really sure how he expects fans to react when we have been turned over by teams like the mighty Altrincham et all of late. We are just meant to suck it up and chant nothing?
Must admit I don't like it when we are actually playing well in a big game at Wigan with Wembley close by!!
I sit in the family Area far end of East stand, I cant remember last time i heard the ponte sing, All I ear is the away fans singing your fans are **** and shall we sing a song for you
Seems bizzare to me. Play well win a few games and you won't get criticism. It's not exactly difficult to understand your supporters who pay a lot of money to watch a team not win at home in months and losing to non league teams venting frustration. The manager, team and board have got away very lightly as we are all generally too apathetic these days. I don't remember Danny whinging when we were singing we are going to win 6-5 at his team or Machin having a paddy when we told him to get Rammell on. Man up stop being a whiner
I'd probably suggest winning a few games at home might be a way to get out of the mess. It's been that long since we did I've been on holiday twice. To 2 weddings a funeral and grown a beard.
Were we **** against Wigan? No. Then why sings about how **** we are when we're not being ****? Great logic.
So let me get this straight. We are bottom of the 3rd division and have played awful football pretty much all season long. The fans demonstrate some gallows humour due to the embarrassing situation we find ourselves in and are asked to stop. Lighten the **** up and win some games. We aren't supposed to be critical of the leadership because Cryne keeps threatening to take his bat and ball home. We aren't supposed to criticise the players because they are young and we might hurt their feelings. We aren't supposed to criticise the manager because he's young and our league position isn't his fault. No wonder all the d1ckheads blame Ben Mansford for everything and now we're intimating the songs aren't helping. It's no ones fault. I'm bamboozled.
Agree entirely. Johnson should be lucky there aren't protests for his head like there has been for previous managers.
Sometimes it's better being constructive than exercising one's right to criticise. No-one's questioning the fans' right to sing what they want, but as he says, it doesn't help. So if it doesn't help our cause, why bother?
Aggregation of marginal gains innit. Supportive atmosphere breeds confidence improves performance gets results. Every little helps
Lose tomorrow against a woeful Colchester side and the whole stadium at Oakwell against Wigan need to be chanting for this loser to leave our club!!
I was at Rochdale where we gave the lads terrific backing, supportive atmosphere like you say. Off the back of that Everton game, the crowd were right behind the lads. And I then watched one of the worst performances in years, in a game where again, the crowd found humour in the situation and decided to throw a plantpot around. We took over 3,000 to Donny, great atmosphere until about ten minutes in when most fell to sleep watching that nonsense football LJ had us playing for the first couple of months. I was at Wigan last weekend, and the only chant of an ironic nature that I heard was the old "how **** must you be, we're winning away" chant. A chant most clubs sing. We're hardly trailblazing. I say we, but shouldn't really as I don't join in with songs like that. Same as the "we only get **** refs" and "everywhere we go" songs. Not for me thanks. So I'm already LJ's ideal fan at games - I only sing the positive songs about BFC and the players (when I can be arsed). But I still don't believe this needed bringing up, or remarking upon. I thought we were finally rediscovering the feelgood factor, so aye, just an unnecessary thing to refer to. In my opinion. Win games of football, Lee and everything else will fall into place. Focus on trying to achieve that.
