For me the ones that have worked across the course of the season and since they came are the ones which i suspect will figure in plans next season... Hourihane, Berry, Scowan, Davies, Winnall, maybe Bailey. We still don't know too much about Williams capabilities but i would say keep and develop. The ones that have come through the ranks that look viable first team squad.... Smith, Holgate, Bree, Abbott, I think players like Hemmings have underachieved and so has Lalcovic, while Treacey, Lita, Brown, Just didn't work at all. Jury is out for me still on Digby, Oates, Cowgill, as being ready for next season. Haven't seem Maris play Of the longer term players i think Jennings hasn't been match fit all season and i question if we now cut our losses and make some space. I think Crainie needs a change for both his own good and ours. Nayatanga has been ok this season, but offers a lot of opportunity for opposition when he is on the ball and when he repeatedly heads the ball down at the edge of his own area. I think though he will be one who stays. Mvoto hasn't staked a first team place. So for The 50-50 success rate is about right, but it means we have half a team / squad to build for next season which in my mind is 5-10 players. Looking at the players i expect to still be here after next week, it certainly isn't good enough to start a season and expect to be competitive. Of course Loanees could change all that.
More worried about the fact that he claims no players 'shirked' out of tackles yesterday. I'm sure I saw Hourihane jump out of the way of at least three challenges.
Cranie will move on, inspired by his agent being able to get him more money. Good luck to him. We are right as a club to keep the wages "real" I like Cranie but is he worth say twice more than Nyatanga? My big fear (and nothing to do with Cranie) is that we have a mass clear out and it takes until xmas to bed a new style/ team into shape.
Agree with that, but like I said from Wilson's permanent outfield signings only about 3 are any good. Winnall is decent but was League 2s top scorer so wasn't a massive gamble , Scowen looks a decent player , Hourihane has had half a good season but talk to a lot of Plymouth fans and they knew he couldn't tackle, couldn't make forward runs and loved a nice easy pass backwards.Berry could make it but still unproven , after that apart from our own young lads who've been decent in glimpses we've nothing. No wingers , one decent striker who runs around a lot , a couple of bairns at full back and a load of overrated central defenders, and Hourihane who no one knows where to play. Not a great starting point for a club who's fans expect promotion.
