I doubt it's about wages. He wants to play at the highest level and he's proved he can cut it in the championship. He wants a tilt at premier league, just like every other player. Danger with offering him daft money, is everyone else starts knocking Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Not if he wants to be a regular for his country. For that he needs to be in the most competitive and watched league in the world and that is our Premiership. Swansea are going down and are skint. Sunderland have ownership issues so they won't be able to afford him either. Newcastle could on their way to being in the premiership with half a season to get used to the expectation level up there. Dull have zero money for their relegation battle and Burnley won't afford him either. Some relegation threatened team will panic and put themselves in more debt trying to get him but there isn't an obvious premiership team that stands out who'd want to buy him in January.
You seriously want us to pay £25,000 per week? Wow. What do you think Winnall, Roberts, Davies etc when it comes to their turn to sign a new deal? Can't believe what I've just read.
He is a Cork lad celtic are his team. Garenteed to play in Europe and win spl's on other hand poor standard of league and no competition. If he is ambitious though he should be aiming to be a premiership player.
Mate I know **** all about football management or running a football club. All I was saying is we lose a £10m quid player for nothing. Or offer him a maximum of £3.9m for 3 years service with the potential to recoup that and more should a suitable offer come in from higher. I don't have your knowledge or fundamental understanding of running large sporting companies. I would just like Conor to stay. And imagine the club do to. If we can't afford him or he doesn't want to fair do. Apologies my ignorance offended your eyes.
I like your thinking mate, only risk is he goes off the boil or gets an injury thats detrimental to his ability, and that affects his worth. Other than that, it's a sound idea in theory. Sent from my SM-G850F using Tapatalk
He'll also lose his freedom to an extent. Old Firm players can't just wander around freely, most of them have their own security personnel. For a game of football? f*ck that.
The players he will want were here when he jumped ship and will have worked out what sort of bloke he is. I doubt many of them would even be interested in talking to him let alone signing.
