Don't you think he must already know as much as he needs to know about our players, so I cannot see why he would want to scout them, but I can see why he would want to look at Kemar Roofe and one or two of the Oxford players. I think that he has been honest at any rate, but he will be looking at players he has not himself seen play, which is most of Oxford. He has already said he is interested in Hammill, if that's not just paper-talk.
He says nothing to me about my life. Hang the blessed Lee Jay. Hang the Lee Jay, hang the Lee Jay. Hang the Lee Jay.
Are we really that naive that we think any football manager ever goes to watch a game between two other sides and doesn't keep a mental note of any players he sees that he thinks could do a job for his team?? C'mon ffs....
There's a difference between that and these comments which seem snipey and petty to me. As a snipey and petty person myself I'd know
no its the way hes gone about this micky. yes managers do that sort of thing but for him to come out in the press and make such comments, in what is a difficult situation to begin with as he shouldnt even be there as a guest. hes a pratt for acting like this.
It's just disrespectful to Cryne, who had the good grace to invite him as a guest - after standing by him through the roughest of rough patches and then watching him do one. Of course he'll scout laikers, no need to take the piss out of us about it though.
Why we've invited him anyway is beyond me. The worst manager I've seen in my time supporting the club by some distance, terrible results for the most part and garbage performances. I'm still laughing my socks off we got compo for him. Cant see any of our better players signing for him again, he ruined Winnalls confidence earlier in the season and I doubt he'd have been here at that point anyway had it not been made clear by the fans he wa a favourite. Hammill came back for his connection to the club not because of LJ. Hourihane maybe but i'd expect him to draw better clubs than them if he was to leave. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Let's be reyt, he's not scouting. He has spent hours and hours working with all our squad and has a well formed opinion on all of them. None of those opinions are going to change based on 90 minutes against lower league opposition. Nevertheless his comments show a lack of respect. He's obviously trying to spin it for Bristol supporters and pretend he is still doing a job for them rather than attending out of an affinity to this club or the owner. It's a cnutish thing to say, especially given that PC stood by him during an absolutely dire run. If he had swung the axe (like so many other chairmen would have) then LJ would currently be managing in L2 rather than the championship. He should have just kept his gob shut out of respect and gratitude to PC. Prior to this I hoped he would succeed at Bristol, but now I hope the disingenuous little midget gets relegated.
It's just like me blagging a ticket for the National and claiming some ******** about networking rather than saying I'm going for the piss up isn't it?
Why are people getting so worked up over this. He spent 12 months coaching these players, he probably knows them better than anyone. He's probably not the only manager on a scouting mission on Sunday, I reckon there could be plenty of championship managers there. Okay Patrick gave him a free ticket, whether that's right or wrong, does it really matter. Bristol City manager in Bristol City scouting mission shocker!!!! Sent from my I-Oven using the internets
as someone else has said, I think its Oxford players he will be looking at More than Barnsley players. He already knows all about the Barnsley players. But there has been a lot of good press about several of the Oxford players. I hope our lot are taking a good look at them too TBH.
Of course he'll be looking at players. Any football manager going to any match is scouting. It's just the fact that he needn't have said it. Disrespectful.
It doesn't do to ever leave Barnsley does it? LJ, Parkinson, Chris Morgan, Goughie, etc., etc. We hate 'em all it seems. Very few get away with it.
He'll probably be checking to see if Winnall is rotating his head better now. I hope someone points out that he literally hasn't been replaced (no-one has been brought in to back-fill Hecky and the others and, if anything, we've improved since he left. Can't think of another example where a manager has successfully been replaced by no-one! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
Didn't you see how bad he was as our manager? He couldn't even work out that Sam winnall was a striker.
