Didn't vote. Can't vote Labour for the way they turned their back on the working class during Covid, and didn't want to vote for anyone else.

Only 24% turn out for the elections in the area apparently.

Very poor indeed. I get people are fed up with our political system, but when so many are vocal about issues then do not cast a vote it's annoying.

Don’t you find though, like on this board and elsewhere, a very small percentage of people make a very large percentage of the noise.

You must be living in a bubble, especially these last 14 years. Have you really no clue about the ridiculous cost of living crisis,The PPE shambles. The mess Liz Truss made of the already poor state of the economy? Even if you don ‘t know who to vote for, then you must’ve have an idea who not to vote for?

virtually everybody I have a conversation with makes some comment about loads of different things. Could be a council service in barnsley, road quality, planning issues, town centre spending etc. Yet come election day and they don't go to vote for someone who may champion their viewpoint or closest to it.

I think that’s the problem. Councillors were supposed to try and resolve or champion issues faced at local level, but now they’re having to tow a party line with a strategic agenda.

Seems the tory vote collapsed the most in areas that had the highest brexit leave vote.
The realisation they didn't get their cuntry back and still can't see a doctor must have hit hard.

If you have an opinion about things it may be a good idea to vote. You're at least trying to say something with your vote, tiny though it is. Of course its your choice and it's part of the democratic process if you don't.... So in other words do what you like...:)
