Saw some research on the trolley problem a while ago - this was for self-driving cars. Across Eastern Asia, they would prefer to hit a child than an older person, but in the rest of the world this is reversed. Across most of the world, they would prefer to hit a man than a woman, *except* in South America. There were other discrepancies highlighted as well (I can't remember them), but it shows that your perception to the trolley problem is as much cultural as it is to your own personal morals.
