    You know me, Paul

I always prefer the quiet life. That's probably due to the fact I'm also quiet, shy and introverted. However, were I to live down there, every day you'd find me in any of the museums or art galleries that London can provide.

You might find me in one Kev, rummaging! I've been working out of hours at the V&A, object conservation checks - no public, alarms off etc well into the night. It's such a different place at night, bit spooky!!

And still the initial point raised in the post is still somewhere about your head.

Footballer says it = it must be true

Actually London does have some great architecture and I'm looking forward to spending a few days there is a couple of weeks. But that had nothing to do with the price of football.

I like London. It interests me. Wouldn't want to live there, though.

I spent 3 months in Islington during the Spring of 1999. Some good experiences, some bad. Helped shape my opinions on a variety of subjects at a fairly young age, which was the whole point in going down there.

A weekend in London, for me, is one of my favourite getaways. So much to see, so much to learn, take in. But I can't help but always get mindfcuked when you walk out of some posh/expensive/regal building, to be met with people asleep on cardboard boxes. Summat proper ****** up about that.

You shouldn't need to worry about making a living in North Yorks then if you're that minted. :)

Actually I live in South London and would fancy a move to North Yorks as well. Been up there a couple of times when visiting my parents and could see myself up there.

The house I sold in Mill Hill 5 years ago for £300,000 has just been sold for £375,000. I don't think our house in Oxspring has gone up by £75,000 over the past 5 years though. In fact, I'd be pleased if it's finally got back up to the amount we actually paid for it!

Much better up here though when you get to our age and have a family. Despite having spent 15 years in London I don't think I could put up with what you have to put up with to live down there any more. It's not so bad when you're younger and have different priorities. Enjoyed my time down there though and it certainly broadened my horizons, although working in the places where I did helped with that, and the mid-90s living in Hampstead and going out in Camden most nights were fab. I certainly packed plenty into 15 years. I haven't ever regretted moving back up here though, not even when I got made redundant and realised that I lived 180 miles away from where 99% of our industry's jobs were!

But I've been telling you for years that there's good money to be made for you by spending time in the summer months somewhere like Robin Hoods bay or Whitby. You'd just need to sell out a little though!

I hope this thread doesn't escalate into 'how much money i've made'. Talking about money is vulgar, and many people who post on this board don't have very much of it. Thanks :)
