Yes your right blackpool, forest, millwall and Reading 360 minutes of football one goal from a penalty great stuff.
I reckon most players are carrying injuries of some description most of the time, is it bad enough to tell the gaffer you can't play? Judgement call sometimes, obviously if you've got a torn meniscus, you've got a clear cut long term injury. So if all our players are out with this kind of injury then fair enough, but are they? I expect a lot of the injuries are more likely due to a woefully inadequate pre-season program and throwing them into 3 games a week - the club fkd up big time, not Schopp's fault.
Injuries or not, it doesnt excuse shopp sticking to a formation he's never used before. It doesn't stop shopp playing out certain tactics or making certain tweaks and changes. And irrespective of the amount of injuries, on paper the squad who has been available and playing should be fairing better than they are.
This is what frustrates me. The Reading goal was another example to highlight that he cannot organise a team with 3 CBs and wing backs. It’s too easy to get in behind our wing backs and create chances. Ismael had a plan for such a move because he’s been playing that system for years.
I think we lost the game picking B. Williams as an attacking full back. Any 3-4-3 or 3-5-2 with him in it loses momentum going forward and is going to be pulled apart defensively.
Other teams have injuries and yet still manage to field a starting 11 that puts in a competitive performance. We on the other hand have a bunch of losers that have a losers mentality.
Hope it's a nice comfy bench and not one he could possibly pull an ar5e muscle on. Last thing we need.
It's harsh, granted, but idiotic is a bit much. Ultimately its the manager / head coach where the buck stops for all-things-player-related. Newcastle players and fans are up in arms about 'Bruce's training and warm-up methods" ........ no doubt he doesn't actually take (fitness) training and warm-ups but I would guess he dictates what he thinks is required.
Almost as if some players might not be as injured as it seems? That if we were doing as well as last season by some miracle some of our injured lads would find a way to be on the pitch?
Oh well thats a positive then! That Oulare is available and on the bench.....im taking that.....Great news heres hoping hes the answer to our problems and that he doesnt get injured in the warm up!
For what it’s worth, I definitely do not entirely blame the Head Coach for the mess we are in. From the bits I have heard, he was promised a number of things that did not materialise. My suspicion is that he knows he has made a big mistake and would like a way out. But he’s having to wait for the axe to fall (as most of us having to earn a living would have to do). I share the concern most supporters have as to his selections, tactics and substitutions, but I also think he has been severely limited both by the lack of credible transfer activity in the Summer, and the injury list. I’m by no means convinced that the next incumbent will be able to rectify the situation, but I guess it will not be long before we begin to find out.
Genuine question....are we still using "the plan" and a formula to recruit....or since they left for forest are we just stumbling along hoping to get bargains etc?
