Great, you'll enjoy the atmosphere. Mind you, they don't have many away fans, less than 1000, even for the Derby game.
That's just Spain though, they don't have the culture of travelling away like England, Germany, etc. Rayo Vallecano are also at home that weekend, so hoping for 2 games in 2 days if I'm lucky!
They speak Spanish over there. If you don't then remember to shout loudly in English. They'll understand then.
No hablo aleman pero hablo un poco de espanol y mas frances. Y ingles tambien por supuesto. Nosotros somos cockios bastar.dos, verdad.
My Spanish is self learnt, so no doubt I will crumble under the pressure once I actually need to use it!
Just this. I'd never been to an art museum before I went to the Prado, I was hooked after this. There's also an amazing painting there of the Plaza Mayor during the time of the Spanish Inquisition - I didn't expect that! Also, don't be surprised to drop on a random street party. We'd been in a few bars on a Sunday evening and walking back to the hotel we heard music and down a side street was a stage up with bands playing, food and drinks being served from house windows. It turned out it was a party for the saints day of the saint that the street was named after, so these thigs go on all over at different times of year.
I'm there from Friday morning until Monday afternoon because the date/time of the game wasn't and still isn't confirmed 100% Hoping to see Rayo Vallecano out there too, so 2 games in 2 days, but will have plenty of time to see what else Madrid has to offer.
