Oh, for sure - it's utterly mendacious. See also bribing people into going out to eat during August and then blaming restaurants and pubs for serving them. In years gone by they'd have been crucified by the press for this nonsense, but now there's a whole audience which will happily parrot whatever they've come up with recently while conveniently forgetting what came before.

 

We've been told at work if any of us get caught breaking rules we'll be on a disciplinary or face the sack. Need to change my name to Dominic Cummings I think, no punishment and a 40k pay rise for such toxic behaviour.

I'm not a fan of shop music at this time of year either and it's a bit bizarre walking through the Habaneras shopping centre listening to "Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow" when it's 25C outside and a cloudless blue sky

 

It's good old fashioned Eastern European brain washing as far as I am concerned. The Stasi are out in the streets jumping on people for not wearing a pretty pointless mask or coming down hard on bars or shops for breaking "the rules/law".
