Quick, sell em all cheap as you can, before they all get injured.

£3m for an 18 year old who'd played 20 games, majority were defeats. Not that cheap really. In my humble opinion. Not saying it's any more correct than thine or owt.

Dunno if they definitely received it but Blunts at work always insist they got £5 million for Naughton and £4 million for Walker. This seems to bear out the Naughton fee http://www1.skysports.com/football/player/6126/kyle-naughton. Can't find anything on Walker.

Is the Stones fee actually £3 million or is it less than that adding up to £3 million when he's played for England 50 times? Our transfers always seem a bit cloak and dagger.

What really pisses me off is when a week after signing one of our players, the managers are in the press saying they've got an absolute bargain. Allardyce said it of Vaz Te and Martinez has said it of Stones. It's like they're trying to tell us they've shafted us.

... or, which is more likely, he carries on playing well, is a key part of keeping us up and thus is worth more.

Playing 'What if' is a dangerous game, but we seem to take the negative, safe option too often. If we're going to sell players on the basis that we had better cash in now incase they lose form or suffer serious injury and thus be worth less than their current value, then we might as well put the whole squad up for sale now and bugger off to Vegas.

3 million including add ons was very poor no amount of suffer gating or playing the ifs and ands game can hide that. Compare it to Zaha at Palace who probably won't be in Roy Hodgson's thoughts didn't they get about 10 million.

Sorry but we got mugged. I don't think it took a whole lot of foresight to see how good he was going to be. Me (and a lot of people sat around me at Oakwell) were pretty convinced he would go right to the top. Oozed class and composure but it was the ability to read the game that he was displaying at such a young age that made him stand out from everyone else.

Utterly mugged - whether he makes this World Cup or not, he'll play for England and I wish the kid all the luck in the World. It's not his fault we were so short-sighted.

my mate is everton thru n thru and after many a conversation everton fans are raving about stones and i got to admit watching him now its amazing how far he as come in 12 months quality player self assured and comfortable at all times, we lost a great player but if its right what my mate told me we have a 25% sell on fee of any future transfer fee (i hope he is right), not sure about any other stuff (england etc) JS could be worth a lot of money in the future for us and I hope he is in brazil in june quality player and barnsley thru n thru. i also think thenew mentality at oakwell is every player is worth something but if you dont match our price then stay away mansford n crew have made change so far

I have to agree with you here, has he changed his name to 'John stones 3 million'? Getting feed up with it now.
