Thought he did more last night than the forwards who had been on all game. Nice lay off to woodrow for him to convert it from 15 yards
As much as I hate to say it, Woodrow is one of our biggest problems. It's like his game has regressed. So frustrating to watch, his hold up play is terrible. Loses the ball so often in costly positions. If I was manager, I'd try and make it so that the only time he had to touch the ball was near the box to strike on goal, something he's very good at. I also really don't understand being so bad at holding up the play. If there was one thing you think you could coach, it would be that.
Sorry Rob, he hasn't had personal attacks from me. In fact I've had a go at those who have. However, you can quote whatever stats you like. He's a striker. The stat that matters is how often he puts the ball in the net. He hardly ever does.
I'm sorry, but he's terrible. Touch like a sledgehammer and only 2 goals since the beginning of last season. Not good enough.
Non of out strikers put the ball in the net look at woodrow people were saying play to his strengths he will get 20 a season. So far he's scored 3 a pen, a free kick and a tap in from 2 foot out
Do you think we’re playing to his strengths? We’re creating naff all at the minute so I don’t think we’re playing to anyone’s strengths, least of all any of the strikers.
It was just nice to see a forward in a Barnsley shirt that should win a few headers providing we’re capable of delivering him any decent service that is.
No I don't but I'm not knocking victor especially after last night when he did okay coming on. I'm just offering abit of balance if your going to slate a player for 15minute cameo have a look at the strikers who haven't scored from open play in about 900 minutes of football starting week after week
I really don't think Cauley is a 20 goal a season striker at this level. If he were he wouldn't be here. 13 to 15 would be my estimate and that's OK and on a par with a lot of previous well regarded Reds strikers. It's a problem when he's out of form and no one else is capable of picking up the slack though.
I don’t slate any player and always give my backing but Victor has had a lot of minutes at this level now, probably more than he should have done let’s be honest. Barring the couple of goals and odd bits of skilful play, I’ve not seen anything to convince me that he’ll make it at this level.
If we anyone is expecting Victor to score the goals that would change a game then they are going to be disappointed , I do not know what his stats are but he cannot dine out on that goal at Derby for ever , its the same with Odour , they simply do not find the net .
Me neither I don't think he is this level along with a few other players who I won't name. But I'm just a supporter I don't offer contracts or pick the team.
I tend to agree with you there. Other than Collins obviously, ALI & Gomes performed admirably. The rest were shoite
He is playing as a forward & I know that its not his fault but if the manager expects him to fire the goals then I hope he eventually is proved right but I will not hold my breath
I thought that he did okay for a cameo of twenty minutes or so. It meant that we could look to go route one and we hit him with long balls quite well. He cushioned enough of them and won some headers well enough to show that there is a clear role for him. If he isn't match-sharp, give the guy a break. He has hardly played at competitive level for ages and at least we found him with that cross. One day he will be heading those into the net for fun. Him and Morris, along with Woodrow would give a different threat and would enable us more easily to re-invent the style under Ismael. Why wouldn't you if it got us a win or two? Good to see him playing at last and I hope that he just gets stronger and stronger to become this season's Daryl Dike. Could yet happen.
