This will be just the start. When Muslims march through Luton under the ISIL flag, shouting "death to the police" , "death to the UK" etc. and the police do nothing, yet can expend their resources on a few EDL who decide to march, and over expend at football matches.

Neither should be allowed to spread their bile on the streets. Terrorists and EDL are both a set of cnuts

Tyranny is indeed looming but not in the way those who say they defend freedom of speech would believe, we face tyranny when 'public virtue is a kind of ghost town into which anyone can move and declare himself sheriff'. Not everyone is prepared to respond to illiberal views with a sage nod of the head, as though all opinions are equally valid or by cowering away and looking at how we ensure that in future one does to even offend terrorists or their apologists. Many of us still have enough self-respect that we will not live our lives at the behest of the new fascists and their creed, we will not allow the country to commit collective suicide at the hands of these people. They are not after a political settlement, or a compromise, but absolute military and religious conquest. Why should we extend the rights we cherish to those who abuse them? The rights of the British people override those of the Islamists in our midst. We should ban Wahhabism and those who promote it from our society. It is a threat to democracy, it is a threat to other Muslims, put simply it should be weeded out.
we had a list of the 50 "British" ISIS recruits who have died in Iraq and Syria in the papers a few weeks back - a list which has an out of proportion number of people of Eritrean or Sudanese birth or family, the very people trying to get in to this country! These people clearly represent a security risk and should be treated as such. killing the mosquito once it has hatched in your garden water bucket and come into the house and bitten you is too late, you have to go and pour the water away.
And before someone tells me its not the majority of Muslims in the 1940s only about 4 million Germans pretty much destroyed huge swathes of Europe - from a population of 60 million thats about 5%. It only needs 5-10% of a large body of people and the rest to do nothing. No one cared about the other 55 million Germans during WWII, we only cared about the 5% who were hell bent on creating a 2,000 year Reich.

Three hundred thousand ... rounded off admittedly.

Depending where you get your information somewhere between 65% to 80% male. Unchr is a proper organisation they say 75%. Majority are not even syrian.

Until recently given more or less free reign on their Eu travel.

They dont need to smuggle guns with them. Getting hold of a shooter isnt difficult in the right circles.

Government says the uk will take 20k... thats not including those here by other means.

Yet no one in the big house is worried.

I get your drift -liberalism will be the death of the country, however it's already too late as successive governments have not only made it a nanny state but have protected the so called human rights of radicals for decades.

I'm with you on most of that.

It seems to be only a matter of time before something like this happens here. I'm only surprised that it hasn't happened yet.

Younger people in this country have no memory of the terrorism that was a constant threat from the IRA, both in Ireland and in the UK. I had only just arrived in Germany in 1990 when they struck in the Dutch town of Roermond, about ten miles from my base at RAF Rheindahlen but much closer to RAF Bruggen which had a very large military presence, and the IRA new that. We were constantly on alert, checking under our cars before we got in them, making ourselves a target by doing that very thing, because the Germans were not a target then.

That threat "went away" some time ago, although it's still bubbling under the surface. Now we don't have to worry about car bombs designed to take out one person. Now we have to worry about mass murderers in our midst, carrying deadly weapons and having devastating explosives strapped to their bodies.

What a sick world this is becoming and it will only get worse. What's the answer? I don't have one and I suspect neither do the various European governments who have colluded in making things easier for these people to move around at will.

I will be very interested to see how France reacts to this. It could be in a brutal, controversial way. Maybe not by sending jet fighters to bomb random middle eastern targets. Maybe they will be a bit more proactive about rounding up illegal immigrants and shipping them back home. Not a solution, I know, but it's hard to see the Muslim community in places like Paris surviving this. There will be recriminations, and plenty of them.

120 people shot dead and you're concerned about English truck drivers not being able to get across the channel?

Would you fancy being held in a line with 5,000 mysogenist invaders outside your truck. I think not.

I see alot of what you are saying. When it's the western world attacking people and innocent people get killed (like when hospitals accidentially get hit) it seems OK for the goverments. They are all excited over Jihadi John yet he's another evil ******* like Bin Laden who escaped proper justice. Quite sure if they wanted to they could have caught him alive, put him through a trial to find out as much as possible and then killed him like they did Saddam.

If there's something you don't like or don't agree with in this thread, maybe it's better to let it go at the moment rather than challenge it?

People are letting off steam. In some cases that might lead to deep seated prejudices rising to the the surface, in others it may just be a rash comment by someone frustrated by this senseless violence that affects us all. Either way, emotions are raw at the moment and people falling out on here doesn't do anyone any good. Next week we'll all be a bit more rational.

Christ, it was sentiments like that very idea that allowed the Nazis into power in 1930's Germany.
