Didn't the meeting take best part of four hours and have to include a break? Talk about going around in circles. All they would want to know is..... 1) What's happening with the manager? 2) What's happening with FFP? 3) What's happening with a number of the best players being frozen out? I don't know why the evening dragged so much or what else they were interested in knowing. Chansiri must have repeated himself a heck of a lot. Now he wants to sell the club but who'd want to buy it? 1) Close to FFP so either have to stick with a rubbish manager and try and give him a little cash to spend or spend money to replace him but the new man and his coaches won't have any cash to spend from paying off Jos and his team. 2) Toxic atmosphere in the fan base. They all think they deserve top flight football as they are overpriced on stuff like STs and replica shirts by a owner who doesn't seem to know Sheffield to think it's all affordable to the average fan from the area. 3) A decaying stadium that would be cheaper to build a brand new one somewhere else (if they could find the land for planning permission) than it would be to renovate.
Just imagine a room full of head-the-balls like Mork the Pitsmoor Owl and you'll understand why it went on for so long.
Or any Wednesday fan really, I imagine the combined brain matter and teeth in that room could've hardly filled an eggcup.
Wouldn't the ffp thing almost go away with new owners(as at Villa). They have been selling a lot of seats at the prices they have been at. RIGHT I HAVE SOBERED UP NOW THEY ARE S***E WITH FANS THAT STILL THINK THEY SHOULD BE THE BIGGEST CLUB IN YORKSHIRE.NOT EVEN THE BIGGEST CLUB IN DEE DARR LAND.
The "easy answer to ticket prices" thread is an interesting read. It's hard not to be sympathetic, even towards Wednesday fans.
He's wanting to make something like a 170 million profit on what he paid for them. The ground has spent a few more years decaying, they are still in the same division and they could be losing guys like Gary Hooper for nothing at the end of the season. Be interesting to know how he can justify the asking price and what he feels he's done to improve the club to make it 6-7 times better than it was before his time, if basing it on what he bought them for and what he will sell them for.
Steve Agnew and Steve Bruce are watching the game against Preston. Expectation that Bruce will be announced as their new Manager this evening.
Been reported he doesn't want a job until the new year. He sadly lost both his parents this year, so wants to spend christmas at home with the family. Every chance they might announce it though saying Agnew as caretaker with him working from January as the number 2 to Steve Bruce. No point him taking over now with the transfer window shut.
