LUCA CONNELL BEST PLAYER ON THAT PITCH TONIGHT

Absolutely controlled the defensive midfield tonight. Best game he's had this season. Shoving Russell into a more attacking role since and including Blackpool has imo changed our fortunes round.
Connell was my MOTM but I wouldnt argue against other choices. Lots of good performances all round. I'm so pleased for Killip as well. Most on here thought he was a poor 2nd choice. Only issue I have, is that it was several games b4 Shrewsbury when he should have been given the shirt.

Yeah I agree with that mate……..Russell is a player who doesn’t seem to do loads great but we seem miles more balanced with him in the team oddly……….i said again tonight to lads around me, when we play with width we look very good, when we go narrow we look average

Russell's reading of the game and awareness of where others are, is the best in the team for me. And I've thought that since he joined us.
Now I think we have found his natural position.
I've said it b4. I don't think its coincidence that it's been a big influence on the performances recently. Connell looked near to his best. And they compliment one another. Imo.

 

I believe they're skint. We need to be holding out for top dollar for Phillips. He's on a long contract, so we're under no pressure to sell unless we get a silly bid.

 

Yep- that was the reason given why they signed Styles & especially Cole. Still, Cole as a 5th choice forward aint too bad!

Gent definitely 50% mom. I only saw second half.

 

Earl for me. Back to the player we signed with his rampaging forward runs. He had that coached out of him by Collins with his stay back and play tippy tappy along the back line. Looks like Clarke is letting him play his game.
