This has come as a shock. I thought he did well when played last season and definitely looked like a player that we offer us something this season.
Bailey would be starting whenever available for me. Amazes me how he's written off yet Pearson is supposedly top drawer. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Bailey is a 'flat track bully'. He's great when your 3-0 up and coasting as he can ping the ball all over the place. As soon as it gets difficult or we actually need to create a goal he's annonyous and quite frankly a bit of an embarrassment. Shame about Berry. Physically might not have been the biggest, fastest or strongest but he very rarely gave the ball away and looked neat and tidy. Can only assume LJ has a couple of aces up his sleeve.
£3000 a week freed up by selling someone who's not seen as a first teamer by the current manager makes sense to me.
have to agree here Tyke:. makes sense to me too, he was obviously not high on LJ's list. so that's a decent wage for someone new.. and we got a fee too, and it looks as if we got a sell on clause too. Win Win for us it seems. Now that's a pleasant change innit
Where does that figure come from? Definitely higher than I would have expected. Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk
His agent, the day we signed him we had a friendly at home, he was stood talking to someone outside the ponty end before the game, think it was another agent, and he said he'd just got Luke 3k a week. I ear wigged it.
Average salary in L1 is c.2k a week. I refuse to believe we were paying a kid snatched from non-league more than divisional average.
I have had the (dis)pleasure of looking few quite a few footballers contracts through my job and they are very heavily performance based so a figure of x per week needs to be taken with a pinch of salt. Especially if it has come from his agent!!
