I don't see why we are trying to make every player be on around the same amount of money. Those who have proven themselves for us over many seasons like Hassell and Steele should quite rightly be on more money than those who haven't.
They will be. It's just that money is lower than it was 3 years ago. McNulty won't be offered the same terms as Steele.
I'm not saying that all should have equal pay, but on a reduced budget then we need to ensure that a disproportionate amount of money doesn't go to a couple of players. Point being we are more likely to be successful (IMO) with a team of good players than one or two superstars and journeymen filling the other roles. This is the transition we've been in for a couple if years now and hopefully we're starting to see the benefits. Also we also get on at the Don for being crap at negotiating. Then when he goes all poker face we get all uppity.
