RE: its purely an opinion with no basis in fact but............... Agreed. How someone in this day and age, given the intense media coverage of this abduction that no one has seen heard or mentioned anything more than fabricated stabs in the dark.
No, clearly not.... What I am saying is that there would be villification of the parents if they were not doctors. Not thatthat would be right
THEM OTHER 2 CHILDREN WOULD HAVE BEEN TAKEN FROM THEM... If they didnt earn loads of money in the profession they do. If they hardly had no money, social services would have had the other 2 kids, for what has happened. FACT
I've been told by someone who was around the resort at the time.. that the apartment is not in view of the restaurant.
i agree with those who have said the parents should be heldto account for what has happened, and also those who say, if they had come from a different social background then they would also have had the other kids taken away from them by now....so supposedly 'intelligent' people, they havent acted that way towards their children, on the night they were probably more interested in 'networking' and showing off.......................
thanks care to elaborate? FACT 1: These idiots chose to decline the childcare offer that they recieved from the hotel and instead left their 2 year old babies (and madeleine) alone in an apartment while they went out. FACT 2: The tapas bar that they were had trees and a pool between it and their apartment and to walk between the two would not be 'like sitting in your garden' like it was claimed. FACT 3: They claim to have made regular checks on their daughter yet a waiter at the tapas bar says they did not leave thier table. Now add those facts to the strange behaviour of the parents since the incident and I don't think that it is such a crazy idea to suggest that something doesnt add up.
"Strange behaviour of the parents" I think if, God forbid, you lost your little girl, caused by your own honest misjudgement of a situation on holiday in a foreign country, you'd behave pretty strangely as well after a while.
These people must be beside themselves with anguish and yet peopleare tearing them apart with a whispering campaign extending from neglect, to stopping just short of accusing them of being involved somehow in the missing girl's disappearance.
Now we have scientific research suggestingthat the bar was much further away from the apartment than has ever been suggested, AND somehow as a result of that, checks were not made to the volume declared.
And the source of this research? You've examined it all on Google Earth!
God help us all!

I can believe that. When the news first broke the restaurant was 300yds away, a few days later it was only 30 yds away. From the maps they have shownit certainly looks like the apartment was notin view from the restaurant. Too many obvious dangers with anunlocked apartment and 3 young kids, they could have fallen down stairs, into the pool, gotten lost, before you even go to the unthinkable that someone would actually take them.
RE: I can believe that. When the news first broke the restaurant You're right. The parents were responsible, not for what happened, but they were responsible for taking the decision to leave the children alone and unattended irrespective of how safe the place felt. You should never leave kids of that age alone anyway.
What I find truly revolting is the notion that the parents' behaviour since has constituted glory seeking and even an implication with the disappearance.

It's difficult to imagine what they are going through or what is the best course of action they can take. I don't suppose they know either. I guess all the publicity is designed to flush out whoever has taken her if someone is holding her somewhere, don't really know what else they can do.Terrible, terrible situation for them to be in.

not commented on this, but now feel I have to.... As you are all aware, 9 months ago I had (well my partner had) our first child... I don't give 2 hoots what social background they come from, or in what circumstances... one thing I do know though, I would NOT in any circumstances go to a foreign place (or any other for that matter) and leave my child unattended in a seperate building to what I am in. I would rather starve and be bored in my hotel room than leave him on his own, either that, or put him in the pushchair and have him at the side of me in the restaurant. If they don't accept pushchairs in the place, I find a place that does.... We can all say "if this, if that", but remember the famous brian clough saying... "oh aye, if me antie was me uncle".... You cannot turn the clock back, but to say that the parents are not responsible (or to plug up anything to take away there responsibility) for leaving there own kids alone in an apartment and be in a different building, is beyond belief. I truly hope she is found safe and well, but IMHO I don't think that will happen now Horrible situation yes, but there are only 2 people responsible for this. End of.
RE: not commented on this, but now feel I have to.... "there are only 2 people responsible for this." If the child has been abducted then surely the abductor is to blame, that is not to say that the parents aren't also culpable.
RE: its purely an opinion with no basis in fact but............... Aye well?/!!!! I reckon this thread as shown a lot on here have a different side to what they like to portray themselves .... (chinny).... (NOT SHOCKED ....) I reckon if it were one of mine I'd have at to be locked up in a Straight jacket?? And jacked up to fook cause id cause a riot if i were of normal mind .... Its a strange thing what the parents are doing ?? it seems like their taking it allin their stride' but i bet their hurting like fook . And its a good job in away that their Scottish and most likely don't know about our friendly little town .
