Yesterdays disappointment could go one of two ways for me. Duff Mads and the lads could have a rallying cry and stay to make sure the job is done next season.
Or half the team say .. right lads nice knowing yer time to move on to pastures new..
But if I'd to guess I say somewhere in between.. just a small rebuild perhaps

I'm probably going to end up with egg on my face but I don't think we will have a fire sale this season.

Duff is super loyal. He's shown this throughout his career, I reckon we get at least 1 one more year with him to finish the job and go up. Unless a ridiculous offer comes for him which I don't see.

Mads seems to love it here and we love him. He's captain and seems thrilled about it. Again, unless a huge team comes in with a mega offer I think he stays.

Collins hasn't played for months since Isted came in, no one will come in with a good offer for him now, so we'll have him or Isted next season. Ideally both.

Connell still has a few years and is crucial to us. Any team would need to spend big to get us to bite. I don't think they will.

Styles will most likely go either to Millwall or some other championship team which will help bring in funds.

The only one I doubt we'll keep is Bobby Thomas as doubt we will be able to pay the fee required to get him now we've stayed down.

I don't think Duff will be here, nor will a couple of the better players. Barnsley is a revolving door. The average tenure of a coach at Oakwell post Hecky (last time I checked) was about 10 months. They come, get noticed and go, or get sacked. Unless we can stop or delay this never ending churn of players and managers we really will struggle to get much higher.

I don’t think the geography comes into yet. He only moved less than a year ago, and spent years at Burnley as a player and coach.

I think the biggest question for him will be what an extra year here will do to his reputation. If the board back him and keep the nucleus of the squad together and commit to properly replacing those that do leave, he can get top two with us. Otherwise, he’s taken us as far as he can.

I think Andersen will have to be sold for financial reasons, especially if we want to recruit, but I agree with you about the rest. I suspect if Bobby Thomas doesn't come back it won't be because we can't afford his transfer fee, but more likely that he'll get an offer from a Championship club. However, if he's enjoyed working under Duff then he may want to give promotion another crack here.

Both are far, far too good to be League One bench warmers so I reckon one of them won’t be with us next season.
Collins’ value will have dipped after a couple of months out of the spotlight whereas Isted is a free agent now so has the freedom to go to whoever is prepared to pay him the most wages.
Two brilliant keepers and I so wish you were right about us keeping both. But it just wouldn’t be fair on the one who becomes second choice.

Ideally, we’d get a fee for Collins and sign Isted on a free. If we can do that and get decent money for Styles, we have a better chance of keeping more of the starting 11 together

I think Duff's stock will only rise while he is with us, we are among the heavyweights in the division and will be competitive, and a winning manager will always be highly sought after. Reading his programme notes from yesterday, it was clear that his decision to move on from Cheltenham was a big one, probably also reflected in how long it took him to accept the job (and massive kudos to Khaled for convincing him we were the right team), he doesn't seem like the type to move on chasing a payday.

Yeah realistically we won't have both but I'd be absolutely stunned if neither were here come start of the season.

He will be sold. We rejected a big offer for him last summer.

Isted will be a free agent and after his outstanding performances for us, particularly yesterday, I'm sure he'll be able to pick from a few teams needing a quality goalkeeper.

We couldn’t get decent money for Styles last year, and I don’t think his value has increased much warming the bench at Millwall.

He’s not been warming the bench. He’s been injured then came straight back into the team

Based on various Twitter threads I've read, pretty much every Millwall fan loves him and want them to sign him permanent.
