He'll be worth twice that in a season because he'll have developed further and experienced first hand (if not played) Prem football. No way is he worth that as he stands now.
Probably Styles to follow and factor in wages saved on Odour and Luke Thomas hopefully gives our new manager good scope to strengthen us.
Luton's main criteria for buying players over the last five/ten years has been more about their character than their ability. It sounds like this guy fits exactly our template. Committed, gives one hundred percent. Somehow we seem to add something extra to these players in term of technical ability. Lets hope it is a wodge of cash for you and chance for the lad to showcase himself. I think we are likely to buy players that if we come down we can sell on for a bit - but we won't come down!
He's also much younger than Pinnock though and will continue to improve. I think it'll be interesting to review how good Mads is when he's as old as Pinnock is now.
I think we sold Pinnock at a similar age, and I'd say that at the point of sale Pinnock was miles better.
Daylight robbery if true. Should be commanding double that and 20 percent sell on even with a year left.
Like said he was a similar age when we sold pinnock. Pinnock was streets ahead, comfortable with the ball at his feet and taking it out of defence, could hit a long pass and it reach a red shirt, strong as a ox. I like mads but he's no pinnock.
I think the criteria has been: when the chips are down at Barnsley, raid them! But best of luck for the season
If that's the price is true, and I have my doubts, I'd be amazed if we get over a third of it up front.
Ahh the pace of seasonal churn at Oakwell is increasing Head Coach, Club Captain I wonder whose next out the door?
Same conversation every year. We sell X player. Our supporters claim he’s worth double what we’re willing to accept. Board are useless ad Infinitum. Fact of the matter is a player is worth what the highest bidder is willing to pay. We either cash out or run his contract and get nothing. Either way the board are useless. I love Mads, I love his passion, he embodies what I want from a Barnsley player. All heart. But, let’s have it right, he’s been prone to a rickett in League 1 and without some improvements especially on the turn or when it gets a bit ‘muck and bullets’ he can be found out and the Premier League is unforgiving. If he goes I wish him nothing but the very best of luck his improvement here has been amazing. Brilliant Captain and one id certainly keep an eye on to see how he’s doing.
They should be paying way more than £3m. It may be an unrealistic amount, but they’ve had our pants down with transfers enough times over the years, Morris for a start. Plus the the income which they’ll now receive so they should pay. Having said that, we’ll more than likely roll over like we seem to do when it comes to selling players.
