It was Omen who said he'll be worth £6 million in another year, I was just paraphrasing him in my reply to him. My own view is that £3 million is a good price for him now and its immaterial what he might be worth in a year's time because his value to us would be nowt
to be fair George Osborne said he was gonna give 110% when he was Chancellor. So no surprise the countries ******.
https://www.footnews.be/news/376478/le-standard-va-devoir-trouver-un-autre-defenseur Not sure where three millions pounds has come from when this site is claiming Standard were signing him for just one million Euros.
Don’t understand why he’s been allowed to stay in Denmark. Disrespectful in my eyes. Which is not something I ever thought I would say about Mads.
£3m plus Duff’s 500k plus Stones bonus plus probably a Styles fee. Then a few high earners off the books. We’re set financially at that point and can push on
Yeah, he’s still in Denmark today. I suspect this is mutual agreement though, to not risk injury. He has a desire to leave (fair enough), and we need the cash (fair enough). Him breaking a leg in training to just show face helps no one. Plus, he’s working with his PT, whom he’s been with for years.
Lol like much of it will be re-invested in the team. Not getting too despondent yet as still hurting from Wembley and enjoying a few weeks off from football, bridges were built last season but the discontent could re-emerge soon! I mean how long do we need to wait for Khaled’s big news ?
To be fair, over the last few seasons, we've generally paid a fee for players, and have offered out new contracts to existing players, so clearly any money received is invested back in the team. I do agree that little has been done by the club so far this summer to build on the goodwill built up over the last 12 months. I guess there's a lot of uncertainty. In regards to Khaled's news, presumably there's nothing to announce just yet. We'll just have to be patient. I've heard something, and if its true, it's something in the pipeline, and not necessarily something that'll be in place come 4th August.
We don't know the situation do we though? If he has already agreed a move but it's not gone through yet, and he has said his goodbyes and cleared his locker, then there is no need for him to come back. On the other hand maybe he is just enjoying a bit more family time at home. I really hope he isn't going, like most of us, but I am resigned to him leaving us soon.
Whilst I appreciate that might be the case it appears our squad and coaching team are all doing different things at the same time. That’s not usually the best path to creating a good working environment.
Mads took a 6 week break and joined pre season later than other players last season. He takes his training seriously and will be focused on returning in great mental & physical condition regardless of who he'll be playing for. Nothing to read into his absence & will be interesting to see how it goes on his return.
Not sure how he has cleared his locker & said his good byes if he is in Denmark, unless of course he has long arms & the use of a high powered megaphone !!!
Khaled's big news was probably the improved extended contract offered to err..., wotsis name. But he buggered of as quick as he could, thus nowt to actually anounce.
