Some Folk on here just get this it's like they want it to be a conspiracy where the head coaches get given a load of players who just randomly turn up at oakwell in random positions. Even hecky himself said if he was given players he didn't want they wouldn't get played, Patrick always stated the head coach has the final say on players and as you said GG said how it works on radio Sheffield.
Don’t make them like Cloughie any more. In fact they never really have - he’s one of a kind. I’m not sure any of us know what goes on behind doors or who calls the shots. GG is the man who has to front up, but it probably won’t be him making the decisions. I’m waiting patiently to see how this season goes. As always I’m optimistic and excited by a new season drawing closer. Relegation a long gone memory now. I like to watch barnsley. The division we are in doesn’t matter once the footie starts again, just the result every Saturday.
I can't remember Spinksy getting any grief over transfer deals.I would imagine GG refers the "we" to the the board and the recruitment team.I've never heard of any CEO in football selecting players.I thought there job was to get the deals approved and over the line.
Yeah okay mate a load of random footballers who GG has signed just turn up at training and the head coach have no idea we sign them untill they arrive that must be how it works........SUPRISE!
And that same season the likes of Hourihane, Winnall, Mawson, Roberts, etc were in the relegation zone of league 1 in December. Players learn and develop. Particularly young players.
Good points. Not only that but Potts has had a season in the Championship, has had some good games as well as bad and scored goals.
Agreed. I thought he came on leaps and bounds (could be a slight exaggeration as I like him) if you compare the first couple of months to his last couple of months last season. I feel his late runs into the box and strong running will be assets to us in league 1.
Not blaming him, if I've misunderstood his role then for enough. I'll ask the question then. Who did decide that in summer 2017 Mallan and Pearson were just what we need, but in 2018 they're surplus to requirements?
I thought the same myself. I also think he hasn’t settled, so it’s probably a decent move for both parties. Note: if he was that good, he wouldn’t be back off to Scotland, another club would have took him. Like I say, not fully settled and/or not quite cut the mustard.
Well according to BBC Sport you lot who don't like GG don't need to worry anymore cos Burnley have hired him.
