Looks too slow and not suited to our high pressing game. Fancy flicks hide a poor first touch and an inability to find space. Poor positionally. A lot of work to be done by player and staff but both seem willing so who knows.

He’s not had the immediate impact all of us would’ve hoped for but in no way is he overweight. Getting to grips with the championship was always going to take some time.

I’m still hopeful he can be a good player for us in the future.

He just looks well built to me not fat at all, better having someone with abit of upper body strength as opposed to ugbo who a strong wind would blow him to the academy fields

Defiantly not a lone striker either like he has started as.

I dedicate my first post to Mamadou.
He is a prime example of a diamond that is being cut & polished by Hecky & team.
Somewhere in Hecky's office, there will be a file that shows he's much fitter & faster than when he joined the club. That's guaranteed because we as fans can observe the big differences in his performances and how well he is developing.
Based on his latest outing, he has pace, strength, creativity, aerial ability and stamina over 45 minutes (90 may be questionable as he did seem whacked after a quarter at Millwall :)
    ).
It's clear he's a team player & giving his all for the shirt, but not the polished diamond right now.
Finally, I have to say how much I missed Adam Hammill this week. He's the one in our team that would have been raising the spirits & getting everyone fired up after Mamadou's genius back heel that made 2 defenders look idiots & laid a goal on the plate whilst 0-2 down. That's the same Adam Hammill that told Mamadou, "that's your song!" after his cameo at Millwall & it was plain to see Mamadou loved it.
Mamadou, you deserved to hear that song again on Tuesday night & I salute you!! Q:no1::cheer:

    I never said you did.

You said that being an overweight lump never did his career any harm. He was never any good above League Two so it's not exactly a ringing endorsement. A lot of modern day footballers are pretty crap at football but they are, generally speaking, superb athletes and you need to be in top physical condition to be a Championship footballer. It's just daft comparing anyone to Akinfenwah.

I was not comparing him to anyone , I was a highlighting how a great big lump has made a living & incidentally still is , out of football. He always makes me smile when I see him on the highlight shows but to be fair to the lad , at his level he has done a decent job

Good on him for giving an interview in English. Plenty of overseas players refuse to give interviews in English for months and months after they join English clubs.
